Description
BIO675 made a music challenge journal a REALLY long time ago, but I've held onto it for a long time. It's the #musicchallenge movement! Find the journal here: fav.me/dd3v97l ))
I had a 5-hour drive home from Washington D.C, so I listened to what was playing on the radio and drew the vibes I got from it. Our favorite stations are 80s music, so almost all of these songs are from that era XD However, I changed the challenge a tiny bit: I only had the length of the song to do the rough sketch on paper! Surprisingly three minutes is really long if you're doing just a sketch, so it wasn't that hard.
So yea! I have one more of these scanned and ready to be done. After that I'll be done, I swear. If you want a link to one of the songs, let me know!!!

It rarely plays on the radio anymore and I was thrilled that it popped up!
It's sort of ironic; Frothy doesn't usually saves lives, he ends them. The song's vibe had a curl up and ponder vibe to it?
Hopefully they are good memories 0.o

Thank you! They really are great tunes. Absolutely ageless!

Looking at some of the titles and artists, and I can only say... chapeau, you have a great musical taste! Who said kids these days don't listen to good music anymore?
And yes, I know what I just said will probably make me sound very old But the fact is, 80% of boys and girls my age (and I'm being generous) doesn't even know half of the names you've mentioned. Which is pretty sad :/
Eh, but enough about today's mainstream on music! All drawings are really beautiful, and I'm impressed you could sketch them while travelling back home, with all the distractions of the case. So good job! And of course, hope you had a good time in DC and had a safe journey back.

All the kids know mumble rap these days >.< I totally agree.
80s music just has so much soul and energy that most songs just don't have anymore!
Thank you! I did it on paper in the van and did it digitally at home XD If it wasn't lined paper, it wouldn't have turned out so well.
We did ^.^ I'm going to post a journal with pictures of the trip soon!

Ugh, mumble rap >.> I mean... I don't hate on those who like that kind of music, tastes are tastes, I just argue that it doesn't classify as rap. It's literally just a singer speaking over a beat. 80s music was, in my opinion, the era of emotions, where music really made you feel something!
Besides melancholy. Which is 90% of modern music
Haha, well it takes lined paper, for sure, but also skills! I struggle to draw at home, on a still desk.
I saw the journal with the photos! I didn't have time to comment on it, but they looked amazing, especially those inside the library *^*
And the ducks, too

The best part is people trying to dance to mumble rap.
The library was massive and super impressive! So much gold paint died to make it XD
Ahhh the ducks. They were better than geese for sure

XDD I both want and don't want to see that! I'm curious but also slightly scared.
RIP Gold paint
Are you referring to their character? I think I remember hearing that geese are pretty aggressive.

*Insert any Fortnite dance* That's how it usually goes.
Hnnng geese and swans are generally viscous at the slightest provocation >.<

WOAH this is so cool! Seriously, I think this is one of your best pieces, I'm not kidding. Because the colors are not tied together it creates a very pretty rainbow pallet, and the finer lines make everything seem even more awesome. Your lineart keeps getting better and better! And anthro horses. They make everything better.Β
The outfit choices are so cool honestly. My favorite has to be the one Tony wearing in the upper panel, though the one she wears with the harem... Heck, I wish I could do that for my exams xD
AACH Derek's shirt has a pun! I didn't get it at first though lol
The choice of songs is very cool too, I love retro music! Come on Eileen is my favorite out of the stuff you've mentioned.
Spoiler, damn you, you don't get tired of being edgy xD
And oh White Wash didn't see you at first xD
(imma doin it too lol)

Tysm! I pretty much put zero effort into this to be honest 0.o I'm glad the characters were different enough colors to have that effect! The lineart is smaller because the canvas was massive xD
Anthro horses are so much fun!
Huzzah! My outfit brain-vomit is worth something! Tony has such a cool closet...it must be fun to dig through.
Yas! 'Back In Black' is such a great song. Derek would wear something dark and punny hopefully.
The radio chose the songs, and what a good collection it was!
Spoiler will be edgy until he dies. Poor Whitewash sorta just...blends in.
Oooh! Can't wait to see it!

I swear it turned out very great!! Perhaps it's the poses.
Huh too bad I can't design outfits like that! I mean I have to look up what they wore in which decade, and it also must be quite fashionable and suiting to the character themselves... aaaach. But Derek can definitely wear that lol I think he wears black most of the time lol
You guys have a nice radio over there!
Not surprised. Spoiler is Spoiler xD

Pone-Dancer In reply to mariebite787 [2019-09-20 02:15:44 +0000 UTC]
If that's the case I'll have to add more posing in my pictures!
I'd say people watch for outfit ideas, but that might not work in your case 0.o
Tony probably bought that shirt for him XD

Itβs always a good thing to do!
I live in a city where lots of people actually dress nicely and fashionable, so I sometimes donβt even have to look up for inspiration! There is a very certain βmuscoviteβ fashion that I also tend to support lol
Iβm sure she did, that was actually my first thought xD

Someone told me that Russians wear a lot of Adidas. Is that actually true, or is it a different section of Russia that does?
π: 0 β©: 1
mariebite787 In reply to Pone-Dancer [2019-09-21 19:19:52 +0000 UTC]
It used to be true actually xD I think it was super popular in 90s-2000s, some people who can be referred to as "gopniks" (you can google it) would squat next to your house entrance, drink beer and eat sunflower seeds. And of course they wore all Adidas.Β
But I think now you can only find them in remote villages lol
Though adidas shoes are considered very good here. I myself own like 5 pairs of trainers and they're all Adidas lol

I feel like gopnik is used as an insult somehow xD
That makes a lot more sense now!

I googled it ant it seems like βhoboβ is a traveling worker. Did you refer to it in this meaning? XD

Pone-Dancer In reply to mariebite787 [2019-09-24 01:05:05 +0000 UTC]
The homeless dudes who travel on trains in movies are hobos! They generally are portrayed with scraggly clothes like this: i.pinimg.com/originals/36/b9/2β¦
Anything that's lose or baggy, or don't match is apparently hobo-ish to her.
π: 0 β©: 1
mariebite787 In reply to Pone-Dancer [2019-09-24 19:11:20 +0000 UTC]
Woah, I see now! Your mom will definitely call me that xD
My clothing style can be basically count down to an old baggy hoodie, a trench coat my mom bought in Singapore in the 90s that looks like some kind of military uniform and can fit two bottles of water and a small book in one pocket (I've tried and it worked), and, surprisingly, skinny jeans. And most of it has to be black. And yet it still looks quite fashionable and arty? Well, it's definitely hobo-ish xD

Pone-Dancer In reply to mariebite787 [2019-09-26 01:17:18 +0000 UTC]
Whoa, a hoodie and a trench-coat together? I can't even visualize that XD She would most likely call you that.
To me that'd be totally artsy, but if you walked into Wal-Mart like that people would get very suspicious

mariebite787 In reply to Pone-Dancer [2019-09-26 19:23:27 +0000 UTC]
It's what I call my very own Muscovite fashion. And I know that I look bloody awesome in that! I think that's because my clothes are higher quality than average HM stuff, and that's why it creates a certain style.Β
One of the friends I met in Prague came to visit me recently (she's from the other side of Russia), and the first thing she pointed out was "damn it, Marie. No matter what you wear, it's always like a military uniform".Β
