BIO: Carnelian is a Quartz soldier in perfect physical condition who manages to not fit in on homeworld regardless. She has strong emotions and feelings as well as outbursts, lack of respect for authority and clumsiness. She despite being built for combat feels guilty shattering other gems, gives sass to her commanding agate and had trouble staying focused. She was told by Honey Yellow Agate if she screwed up one more time she'd be rejuvenated or shattered.

She joined the crystal gems shortly after the war and Rose was the first gem to ever make her feel like she wasn't ditzy. After training... She was sent to another faction of the Crystal gems by Rose Quartz where she was STILL teased by the other gems for being so clumsy. She would mess up missions and they would get mad, particularly a fusion named Iolite who was the fusion of an Amethyst and a Lapis Lazuli. She wondered why she even left homeworld if everything was just going to be the same here on Earth. Earth was supposed to set you free. One day there was a battle and Carnelian bumped into Iolite on accident and she unfused on impact. The Jasper she was fighting shattered the Lapis component. Carnelian felt horrible. Carnelian was poofed and bubbled by the Topaz overseeing their faction indefinitely because she was too big a threat to the cause. She was bubbled until after the gems were corrupted.

She was discovered by Steven who found her in a bubble exploring a forest cave where she was hidden away. She had LOTS of issues as you can imagine. Steven slowly helped her realize it wasn't her fault the Lapis was shattered, it was the Jasper. She slowly began to feel warm and cheerful.... until Jasper arrived. Jasper was THE Jasper who shattered that Lapis all those years ago and ruined her life. This made her feel like any time she thinks she's found freedom from her labels and her past, they just find her again. Jasper started calling her "Crystal Clutz" which Carrie hated more than you can imagine.

"You failed at failing. You're such a failure even the failures wouldn't take you!"

In SUF Carnelian started to become happy again and Topaz had even apologized for bubbling her, until the Amethyst from Iolite was uncorrupted and not exactly happy to see her. She was even more unhappy that Carnelian was a friend of Steven's and an important part of the Crystal Gems now. Carnelian had trained with Bismuth and Pearl on how to control her clumsiness and had become more confident and composed. Iolite Amethyst resented Carnelian and still blamed her for Lapis and didn't like how successful she'd become. Iolite Amethyst becomes an antagonist and teams up with "mean Lapis" from the terraformers episode for a while who was basically just a rebound of her old Lapis.
