Description I think this deserves to be uploaded separately...

This is a reskin for Twilight I made as an example for the material system tutorial, but it turned out ok, so I decided to make a simple pose. It's basically the magic effect made with self illuminating textures, had to edit three textures in order to get it look right. It may or may not be released, depends on the difficulty since I need to make similar effect for a few other unicorns.

The picture isn't edited at all, it's all in game. Used two lamps and two rocks for the environment and one dim light for the horn. That's it.

Hey, do you still have that project lying about? Because to be frank, this looks amazing.

You mean the horn texture? Yeah, I have it, but it could use some tweaking and those textures have to be remade for all characters separately.

True. I'm more of a texture rookie anyway...
But knowing that the files are still there is still a good feeling. Would be a shame if a revolutionary idea like that would go to waste.

Added a self illuminating mask on the model and edited the texture a bit, it's all in game. The glow on the tip is a light bulb, the rest is model editing.

Say what? I used careful material and texture editing for the effect, as explained in the tutorial.

I use the same method to represent magic. The lightbulb thing, not the complicated horn glow textures. I haven't tackled that myself.

I have noticed a few people use the light, that's why I threw one in the pic I think I have seen someone use that glow on horn though, but it's most likely just good editing.

Believe me, wasn't as easy as I thought. Edited the textures maybe a dozen times just to get it look decent
