A painting of Vinyl Scratch for a fellow Brony!Even though he had work until 11:30 at night, he still came out to DJ my 21st birthday party with a Scratch-themed hoodie and glasses. Blasted Party With Pinkie long into the night.
It was glorious.
He also made me a kick ass Twilight Sparkle hoodie which I wear proudly.
This was my "thank you" present.
I also wanted an excuse to draw Scratch.
(Alright, everypony. I know this apparently resembles [link] with the broken glasses. I love that piece. I had forgotten about that piece, but I still love it. So before one more person passive aggressively asks me if I copied it, the answer is NO. I must have been subconsciously inspired by it. I'm coming into this fandom a bit late, a lot of things have already been done.)

I really love the purple lighting you gave her. The effect the broken glasses gives by framing her face is really nice, too.

Excellent coloring and shading this is a very well done pic. The lens breaking and exposing the red eye really has a great impact and you captured it well. Nicely done on this pic.

Subconsciously inspired by it, yes; copied it, no. Aside from having the broken lens over the right eye, there's pretty much nothing in common between the two drawings, and they portray Vinyl Scratch / DJ P0n-3 in very different lights and very different moods. They're both among my favorite fan drawings of this character. Thanks for sharing your art!

It's happened to me a couple of times with other pieces I've drawn. Constant comments that say "This looks just like [insert piece here]!" or "Did you get the idea from [insert artist here]?" 6_9 It makes me feel poopy... I've just seen SO MUCH PONY ART that there's sure to be some subconscious influences along down the line. I can't keep track of it all.
