Description And here's the (almost) final product. There's still a lot to fix on this, but most of it doesn't really show up in the small photos so I thought I'd share. It's been torture keeping this project a secret, so I'm just happy it's finally almost done! And, of course, there's the mini stein that started it all... ^_^

Yes, she does also stand without the stein. I added the base partway through, for people who would want to view/display the whole figure. She's meant to be a jaguar to match the stein, but she could probably be modded to be any big-cat type girl. I am planning on doing a limited release of this model in the near future, so please stay tuned if you'd be interested in hearing more about her! (Of course, the stein won't also be included in the release since it's just an Avon mug I found in the store, I didn't make it)

Sculpture + stein stands about 10.5 inches tall, from base to fingertips. The model is made with a mix of Super Sculpey + Sculpey III, with wire and epoxy putty for the inner skeleton.

Hmm it would have been fun to have one of these customized into a lynx style so I could paint it and give to my finaceΓ©. he'd go all bubbly blubbery tear gushing over it. And yeah, Resins By Randy rox.

That looks great! I usually find hair a distraction on anthro animals, but it really suits here. Nice smooth sculpting, too.

I couldn't possibly do justice to this awesomeness with mere words...so I'll just ask a question, if that's alright! How on earth did you get everything so smooth? Sculpey diluent? In any case, this is absolutely breathtaking work.

Ponygir1 In reply to Spicemallow [2008-10-30 04:22:35 +0000 UTC]

Actually, it was mostly sandpaper. Would get things as smooth as possible with fingers before baking, then sand with fine grit sandpaper afterwards. The sanding grinds down the lumpy areas and reveals where the dents are, then rub dents with turpenoid (diluent probable works the same) and fill in with more Sculpey, bake another time.

I bought some Sculpey diluent recently, but I haven't tried it yet. I'll have to give this method a shot too whenever I get the chance... I love your sculpts so much - they're always so pretty!
