Givin enough time Celestia may find a way to free her. Twilight isnt dead just imprisoned. If she can be freed, it will have been centuries or longer since her imprisonment. Her friends will have long since passed on, blaming themselves for what happend propbly. Renouncing her element definetly.

I read two fan fics based off a bad ending.
One is Twilight died, and turns out she wasn't the first to die from trying to solve the spell. But she was the last as Celestia started to go mad and destroyed the spell scroll to make sure no other ponies suffered the same end.
Second was as dark seems Starbeard went mad and cursed the spell if anyone solved it, since he couldn't.
the curse was the one who solved it would lose everything dear to them. in a fiery death, Celestia found out too late.

Eh!? Oh! This is just a fandom that i write, as a hobby! It isn't part of my reality! This often irritate Twi (maybe because of this i still write). About the book, i need more time to study it, but i can say that the techniques taught in it are very different of the common lessons of magic to unicorns.
