September 12 2009I'm taking a bit of a break in between some art commisions and adoptable work to do one picture for myself. I find that I need to do this every now and again.
Phae'Shalee and Kezzer again, I haven't drawn them in years! They're just being rped again since the game was stopped back in '05 or so, we only skipped maybe about half a year in game so Phae'Shalee is still pregnant (and not quite as full yet as depicted.) I just had this image in my head and thought it would be cute.
The belly button piercing is a gift from Kezzer, he enchants piercings and made one that protects their unborn child so Phae'Shalee can still adventure.

It is super that the gold color contrast greatly with they skin. His skin , well , because he is the one to have gold color on him.

He's my husband's RP character, a half drow, half gold dragon. Kezzer is strangely very popular wherever he shows up online, my husband plays him a bit in our RP adoptable on another site where he's clamoured over. (We never fully understand why, but it's interesting. ^_^ )

Yeah, they were close, but Phae'Shalee wasn't really in love with him. She finally realised it after half a year together and they decided to part. (They were mostly together because she became pregnant from a random, ill-through-out night together. O.o )

Oh, this picture used to make me so tremendously happy and hopeful. Now I can't see it without feeling a little wistful. I still love it though, but in the hearthtrhobby, poignant way that the old picture you drew of Wepi and Tai lying dead together made me feel.

Yeah, it still has a bit of a sad feeling for me now. Phae'Shalee realised that she wasn't really in love with Kezzer, and it wasn't under the best circumstance that they originally got together either.
I know that the pictures of them together have been around for awhile, but that was mostly due to a very long period of time that the game was put on pause.

I think I love Kezzer deeply, really, I do. The few pregnant-mother-with-father pictures I've seen tend to (perhaps unwittingly) portray the father as crazily devoted to the unborn child, but somewhat emotionally neglectful of his partner. As if the poor woman only matters as long as she keeps the legacy alive. Kezzer looks like he loves his child AND like he loves Phae'Shalee madly, whether or not she is useful in producing heirs.

Maybe someday my husband will actually have some free time to fill out Kezzer's IM. (the poor guy is so overworked right now.)
It's an odd relationship, especially because Phae'Shalee is oddly both the dominant one, and submissive at the same time. She's pretty wide-eyed and young while Kezzer is much older and experienced so he has this protective, nearly patronizing (in more of a dominant male figure) position with her. But Phae'Shalee is in complete control of everything, and he would listen to her no matter what she said or wanted.

I had to adjust her face a bit to get it to look right. Phae'Shalee is still supposed to be in the elvish equivalant of her late teens.

The way you drew the speckled golden markings on Kezzer makes him look mystical -- the shading is really shiny and lovely.

I love Kezzer's scales, I've always been fond of 'gold on black' colouring. Once Phae'Shalee rubbed is scales asking if he could feel through them, and he gently took her hand and scratched her fingernail to show her what it was like. I love his huge hands.
^^ I've been stalking DA but haven't had a chance to upload anything since I've been mostly doing commision pictures and adoptables. Things are good, busy as usual but good.

They have an interesting relationship, one that would be pretty much taboo by today's standards due to their age difference. (Remember that they're from a fantasy setting, with a lot of medieval standards, such as girls being married off in their early teens.) Phae'Shalee is much like an elvish equivalent of a 16/17 year old (so she's around 115 years old). Kezzer is much older, even moreso due to his being a half dragon since it's slowed his aging. He has this strange 'submissive and dominant' additude with her, being that he's both complacent and listens and obeys anything that she says (being raised in the female-dominated drow society), but he's also knowlegeable and somewhat dominant in a near '
