August 2017Not one of my best pictures, I was unsure if I would post it or not but finally decided to do so.
This is Layla and her styracosaurus animal companion Maua. Maua is a pretty darned smart dinosaur.
I forgot to put the braids and green streaks in Laya's hair.
Back during Skull and Shackles the characters wanted a druid to cast plant growth spells to help with their new farms on their newly claimed island. I didn't have any good rural druid ideas at the time (and it doesn't really suit the setting much). The finally found a dinosaur shaman farther south and hired her. She may not be the most farming-inclined, but she does have the spells, and they do have dinosaurs on their island to interest her.
Although now she's claimed Raptor Island and plans on fully clearing it out of all but her and the dinos. Hubby has a game planned for that in the future. ^_^

I love this piece so very much Pooka. and I LOVE that she has Maua as her companion! EEEE . I'll need to hear all about that clearing out of 'Raptor Island' after you've played through! <3

Raptor Island is pretty nifty. It's a large island in the Shackles (a pirate kingdom made of many islands), and is nigh impossible to get to by ship or even boat. It became a place that ships toss off troublesome crew nearby to maroon them, that is if they can swim to shore past the jagged reefs. Then they have to face packs of raptors on the beaches. Most don't survive. The few who do can find their way to a ramshackle fort that survivors have built. The characters already rescued the non-evil people at the fort, and Layla (now a fairly high level) plans to go back and use some high level druidic magic to decimate the rest of it.
