Description I was trying for the first time the Ambient occlusion process.
It was not really fun to do the occlusion part and i think i'll not try this again!

Hello there! Really nice artwork.

Nice way to present your process too with your videos.

Regarding your AO layer, I think you could enhance it a little bit by insisting on the deeper creases, this will add more volume to your dress for instance.

I'm practicing the AO technique too (3 artworks so far) and even if this is a tedious step (I completely agree with you), I find it to be most enlighting to understand how your shapes interact. Moreover, it is easier each time I do it.

If you're interested I have shared my AO layers and my process in my gallery.

Anyway, for a first time I find this great, and you should definitely try again. I'm sure you'll be surprised by the end results

cheers

Hey! thank you for your comment and critic!

You're right the process need some logic that I don't really understand sometime from my point of view^^"

I guess it needs practice but I'm not motivate at the moment to redo the experience haha

But yes I have to give it a try again someday!

I found your AO; it's interesting to see someone else process

Thanks to you for taking time to answer

I admit that I find AO fun to play with because of its technical aspect: At first, it is derived form 3D techniques to render lighting. This is a part of its logic I love. So I understand completely how it might requires motivation if you're not into this kind of process.

Thank you also for taking time to browse into my AOs, I find it fun too to share process. It's because other artists have taken time to share that I've been able to progress, so I hope my process will help other artists too

Thanks!^^ I love using soft color in my color pallet; having a soothing ambience with a lighting is what I prefer :3
