Description
Just finished this today.Actually injured my hand while taking a break to let some of the paint dry.
Managed to crack the top of my hand on the corner of our tile kitchen counters.
It still hurts like hell. The last ten minutes I spent on this, also, hurt like hell.
But now its done. All painting obligations are met, pieces wise, for upcoming shows.
Which is good. May be a few days before I can paint again. we will see.
This tiger has a weird form for sure. Its for the circus/carnival show.
There are only so many animals involved in these subjects.
I wanted to do a tiger, and figured it was likely that someone else would have a tiger somewhere
in one of the paintings. So I wanted to make sure mine would be completely different.
16 inches x 20 inches
Acrylic on canvas.
(tiny bit of spray paint, the darker red stripes.)

Mr Tiger is very cool. His long limbs must be great for dancing.

Is the black all acrylic too? I could never get it that neat, brilliant. Nice touch with the spray painting.
I think something in the centre of this would set it off nicely though, like a nametag around the tiger's neck.

Yep. all the black is acrylic.
The secret is mixing high quality and low quality paints.
Especially true with my black lines... I use about 30% high quality (thick paint) and 70% cheaper, thinner black.
The combo is just right. for me at least.
A name tag might have been good.
handnt thought of that.

This is great, the title really fits. I love his flailing arms. To me, they give it a comic feel, perfect for the circus.

I'm sure someone will. And in case nobody does (which I doubt), tell me I don't have much money but I really love that tiger and I could consider buying it as a Christmas present or something.

Hope your hand gets better soon!
I like the oddly elongolated limbs of the tiger, but I think there's something a little confusing to the eye, about the place where the line of the mouth meets the hair on his cheeks. There's a little tangent there that blurs the readability. Also the ears are a little weakly defined to my eye.
But I like the kinetic posing, the colours and the background!

Thanks! Yeah the corner of the mouth and ear, just didnt hit like i thought they would.
When I "sketched this out, I just used a brush w the orange paint. so the lines got close in some places.
When u see it in person it looks a bit better.

I imagine so! Part of the blurryness comes from it being so small on my screen I guess...

Reminds me of Olive Oyle for some reason. You know how her arms would go all quivery while she was screaming for Popeye? Reminds me of that, haha.
Fun stuff. I like the background, too, for some reason.
