Description
This poster was made BEFORE the game release. Like February 14 so I really just made this for any Duke Nukem fans. This poster does not reflect my opinion and if I had to choose who will win in a fight, logically Kratos. Why? It's not because of his skills with the Blades of Exile more like the powers and weapons he obtained during his quest for vengeance. He has the Blade of Olympus and the power to electrify anyone. That and he is pretty resistant so if he got hit by the powers of Zeus and lived? I think he can survive a bullet. Then again I haven’t played Duke Nukem so I wouldn’t know what kind of weapons and powers he uses so I could be wrong.
It’s kinda like a Mario v.s Sonic situation, you never really know
---------
I still love Kratos but after God of War 3 (How the HELL did that game not win Action game of the year?!
But that's why Duke Nukem is coming back and just in time!
Now here's something to think about!
Who will win in a fight: Kratos or Duke Nukem?
If you are a Duke Nukem fan then you'll probably like these videos I found off of youtube:

[link]
Duke Nukem (c) 2K Games
Kratos (c) Santa Monica Studios
(I mention his name quite a few times so I think I have to put a disclaimer
The games is out NOW so tell what you think about it?
Does it suck like the reviewers say it does?
Does it Freaking kick-ass?
Or is it a meh kind of game?

Who knows? I don't know that much about either, but the Duke's got some pretty impressive weaponry. Mostly guns; something I doubt Kratos has ever even heard of. Most importantly, Mr. Nukem (why am I being so formal about this dude?) has a shrink ray. allowing him to step on what used to be titan-sized behemoths.
We may see... We may see...

Also, he's got some sort of combuster gun and...
Frankly, I'm starting to think that Duke Nukem could humiliatingly pwn Kratos, from what I've gathered.
...making Duke Nukem the new, NEW God of War. (Oh, how fitting!)

Everyone was expecting Duke Nukem Forever to be the best game in the world afer 15 years.
But the thing is:
It didnt go through 15 years of Development, It went through 15 years of DEVELOPMENT HELL and the game and the development team had suffered more pain than any other game in the world could handel. But Duke spat in the Devil's face, broke out of Hell and was released worldwide, it was released with alot of flaws from hell but it was still released!!!
Always bet on Duke!!!

Haha, you actually take yourself seriously? Platinum hits, okay one! That's for Xbox you moron, I am pretty sure that GoW is a PS2-exclusive game. I may be spitballing on that one. Two, you do realise that a game has to sell well in order to be a greatest hits, right? No, because you're dumb. And who cares if the remakes sell? The originals did so well, nobody needs to rebuy them. And yeah, I was comparing it to Prototype1 and the pre-orders of 2. How much is that selling? Not much. Why are you so dumb? And I know all about Deadpool, and enough about Lobo to tell that you're just ridiculously stupid! He's a semi-parody of Wolverine, and fights Superman and Wonder Woman often. So yeah, why don't you look up the sales for each game and get back to me? And by the way, you're still dumb enough to be talking about sales when this was who would win in a fight? That's completely moronic. No wonder you work at a game store, you're a failure!

The game isn't "bad", but far from kickass (the good ol' DN 3D was tons more fun)... just as much as mr. I-cosplay-as-Quan-Chi-and-copy-other-games-cause-I'm-worthless...
And then again, both would be killed by tons of other characters (Lobo or Alex Mercer to name a few).

What are you talking about, that was virtually irrelevant. I didn't say who's games are better, and if you want to do that, I imagine that God of War has sold more than Prototype, and that incredibly cancelled Lobo game. But I guess that doesn't matter either? Nice argument.

Actually, Prototype sells quite well to this day, while GoW did sell back in the day, then stopped. As for Lobo, he's a comic charcter by origin, and his comic do sell well. And I work at a video gam,e store, so I have the insight on what sells and what doesn't, what do you have besides fanbot delusions?

solidejake In reply to LukeTheRipper [2011-11-12 22:45:00 +0000 UTC]
You work at a game store? You must be an expert, right? I live in a house, I couldn't sell anyone real estate. That's your logic, talk about "fanbot". What a dumb term, especially for someone talking about God of War failing and making remakes. Please, name one remake of GoW, and how poorly did GoW3 sell? Not bad at all. I bet GoW1 has sold more than Prototype 1 & 2 combined. And Lobo? Why even bring him in? I know who he is. Superman villain. DC's Deadpool in some ways.

LukeTheRipper In reply to solidejake [2011-11-12 23:01:56 +0000 UTC]
I don't have to be an expert to know what sales good and what doesn't sale at all, and while GoW 3 did sell, the GoW remakes, GoW Collection 1 & 2 (which are HD remakes) on't sell at all. And nope, GoW1 did poorly as well, since it was released as a cheap Platinum version 1,5 month after the original release, and was later given away as an added bonus when buying a PS2. So no, Prototype actually sold way better, as is still selling well, while GoWs just collect dust on the shelves. As for Prototype 2, well it has to come out first, but if you would know that if you did your homework, but you're either too lazy or too stupid. Not to mention, comparing Lobo to Deadpool proves you don't know shit about neither of them so how can I expect a valid argument from a delusional fanboy

And after over a decade of waiting... DNF sucked donkey balls.
Really, Kratos massacred an entire pantheon of GODS in seemingly a single day and night. How does a few aliens match up to that? Women? Even the goddess of love herself lusted after Kratos. How does a bunch of loose strippers compare to her? Has Duke ever had a ninesome with 8 women? Not that I know of. But Kratos has. How about weapons... Kratos killed those gods, not to mention hundreds (if not thousands) of ghouls with a pair of swords and his bare hands. Duke needs guns. Spartans would view a gun as a coward's weapon. Ergo, Duke is a coward in Kratos' eyes.
Sorry, friend, but Kratos outclasses the Duke in every way.

Kratos started the war between the gods, let's not forget that. By opening Pandora's box, he absorbed the essence of Hope and the essence of Fear went to the other gods. His badassery was the result of his own selfishness and desire for revenge.
Dukester, on the other hand, kinda fell into the situation. Sees that what the Cycloids are doing is wrong, and sets out to stop them. Doesn't ask for a reward or anything in return; he sucks in the last of his smoke, exhales and flicks the butt away before setting out to do just that. Sure, he benefited in the end, but only because of circumstance. People wanted a badass hero who walked his talk and reminded the adults of a time where Heavy Metal reigned in the place of the Post-Grunge/Rap descendants. Where the good guys where one-liner-dropping musclebound hotshots with limited character development and the badguys were foreign creatures of utter destruction and persecution.
And really, what did you expect from a Duke Nukem 3D sequel? Shakespeare? I expected to kick ass and chew bubblegum. Did I get that? Oh, shit yes I did. Was it a ball-buster to get through? Definitely. But I'll take Duke's snide, crude hero-complex than Kratos' contradicting idiocy.

Spartan198 In reply to TheLastIronMan [2011-09-14 03:35:31 +0000 UTC]
In the beginning, Ares was his only concern. And considering Ares tricked him into killing his wife and child, that revenge seems a little justified. Kratos had no beef with Olympus or any other gods. Zeus started the war when he killed Kratos at the start of GoW II. Kratos himself even stated to Athena at the end that his intention wasn't to bring down Olympus, only Zeus for betraying him. And then Zeus, of course, brought the rest of the gods in on it. What was it Kratos said to Hermes? Something like, "To catch a fly from the ass of Zeus is not my concern." Sounds like "Get out of my way and I won't kill you" to me. Kratos also told Herakles that he had no fight with him. Kratos only killed Hephaestus because the god betrayed him and tried to kill him. I also remember Kratos doing everything possible to protect Pandora and impaling himself with the Blade of Olympus in order to give the power of Hope to mankind. Those two acts aren't very selfish, at least not in my book.
Oh, did I forget to mention how many times Kratos has died, yet even *that* wasn't enough to hold him down. The Sisters of Fate, the most powerful force in the universe, couldn't stop him. How many gods has Duke killed? None. How many times has he fought his way out of hell? None. How many times has Duke defeated a supernatural being that controls the very course of his life? Never. It's easy to destroy some monstrous abomination when you have machine guns and a rocket launcher. What does Kratos use? Oh, right, a pair of short swords.
You're actually *praising* the lack of character development? Wow. And a 25 foot tall cyclops *isn't* an enemy of utter destruction? I fail to see how you come to that conclusion. But since Duke has never fought one...
After 12 years of development, I expected a damn epic game. They had long enough to do that, that's for sure. Instead it was the single biggest disappointment I've ever played. Hell, Golden Axe: Beast Rider was a better game and it was universally condemned by virtually everyone.

A pair of short swords designed to kill everything in their path, blessed by the forces of hell. Unfair advantage much?
Everything Kratos does is done for himself, for revenge on the gods because he couldn't forgive himself for killing his wife and daughter. That, alone, is enough to send him on a decade's worth of man-bitching.He's not a traditional hero, he's a Greek Hero; a title that needs ONE requirement: Demi-godhood, one born of an Imortal and a Mortal. With that, anyone could be a hero in the eyes of the Ancient Greeks. And I do mean anyone. None of the heroes of Ancient Greece were spit-polished perfect. None of them cared for anyone else but themselves and their own gain.
I found Forever fun, sure it needed some smoothing over but that's nothing a few quick title updates can't fix. I'm just glad it's finally done and out of the way so we can move on to the next game.

Spartan198 In reply to TheLastIronMan [2011-09-15 00:38:09 +0000 UTC]
Not really, since you have to get in close to use them instead of standing a football field away. Besides, things like heavy machine guns, grenade launchersrs, and rocket launchers are all designed to kill everything in their path. I prefer the Arms of Sparta anyway. Up close, personal, and not "blessed by hell", as you put it.
You seem to be under the impression I view Kratos as a "good guy", which isn't the case. He's not a good guy and has no interest in being one because the so-called good guys never actually get anything done. How many times has Superman put Lex Luther away only for him to plague the world again? How many times has Batman put the Joker away for him to just escape again? Kratos knows this and when he deals with someone, he actually finishes the job. Most Greek heroes are demigods, yes, but not all (Jason, Hektor, to name a couple examples that are 100% mortal), and not all were solely out for themselves (Perseus, Theseus). So what if they aren't "perfect"? I HATE "heroes" like that. Flaws make fictional characters more human and easier to identify with because nobody in the real world is perfect.
I could care less about what games you find fun because that doesn't obligate me to play them. If the goal of DNF was to "move on to the next game", maybe they should have just trashed DNF and begun working on that next game in the first place. God of War didn't need "a few quick title updates" to be a quality game, EVERY God of War title has been infinitely better than a lot of the crap released recently. And believe me, if GoW IV took 12 years to complete and it turned out upon release to be shyte, I'd be just as pissed.

If GOW 4 was made by one company who remade it then restarted several times and then a new company sold it after it was finished it would be bad, its unfair judgement to have this amount of hate towards one company for the mistakes of another, Duke Nukem Forever is a parody game and nothing more, this is why the gaming market sucks now everything is taken way too seriously.

I have nothing against anyone who legitimately enjoyed DNF (if my comments here at any point implied the opposite of that, I apologize), since I have a fair share of "bad" games that I enjoyed (Medal of Honor: Warfighter, for example). It's just that I had really high hopes for it and even with the "glass half full" mentality I maintain toward games these days, it fell too short of my expectations. I fully hope somebody can give Duke the game he deserves one day.

Oh, I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over God of War's nearly perfect scores towering over you and DNF's pitiful ones, what was that you said? DNF sucked because it was a seriously subpar game. It's an affront to what Duke used to be. And when you compare Greek heroes to today's action movie stars and superheroes, you should consider that the modern concept of a hero differs so vastly compared to ancient Greek heroes that they can't even be classified as the same thing. It's like comparing a playwright to a Hollywood screen writer.
My mother's basement? Is that the best insult you can come up with? My mother lives in her own apartment across town from me and doesn't have a basement! You've gotta try harder than that. You shame the word "troll".
