Ok, it just doesn't seem that I'll stop drawing LIS characters, I planned to do some other drawings but noooope!!
How can you miss a character that never actually appeared? Well somehow I do.
Aaand a little note on her appearance. So that missing posters of her says that her eyes are hazel, but on all of the photos they're blue. Grey blue kinda. So I googled and there are green-hazel and blue-hazel colours of eyes, so I tried to depict 'em. And her hair's blond, but it looks like.. I dunno, wheaten? (do you describe colour like that in english? sorryyy)) So, here's my view on Rach, hope you'll like it))

Thos looks quite nice, you definetely got the facial features down on point. I think it could use even a bit more depth in the color Palette and contrast, but thats of course just my opinion

I'm can agree there, I can see the lack of depth especially clear from the thumbnail. I've never thought working with colours is quite a challenge! And contrast is such a tricky thing - add too much and the drawing looks heavy and kinda grotesk, but without contrast it turns out flat and sometimes even boring. Still learning tho, thank you so much for pointing that out, I appreciate it)) And thanks for the kind words too^^

Yeah, I've discovered this method recently) It's quite helpful, though I still can't really figure the hues for shadow and light sometimes

Yeah, i get you. There are some tutorials on how to choose colors (especially for skin), but honestly i feel a lot comes from trying it out .and copying photos probably

I get frustrated with digital painting, I can never seem to paint hair and skin the way I want, it bums me out :c I guess that's why I prefer painting over a 3D image. the basic template is there already. I can't believe how much you've improved though, seriously!

None of my drawings turned out the way I wanted it to) Sometimes it upsets me too, but you look at it critically and think what you can do to make it look better next time) I usually use this brushes for hair and this and that brushes for skin. Well, I still experimenting with other ones, you can browse through DA or my favs for different brushes) I mean, if you miss digital painting, you should go back to it, you can even keep painting over 3D pictures) Do it for your own pleasure and fun, it sounds cheap, but it will get better eventually!And yeah, thank you so much, glad to hear (read^^) I'm improving))

I had played Life is Strange so the characters are familiar to me as well as things that probably inspired some or many parts of the story.
I do think Twin Peaks - a television series from early 1990s is a significant influence because of the Fire Walk With Me reference on the restroom mirror at the Two Whales Diner and that the diner itself is a nod to the series. Plus to some point I think that Rachel Amber is on some level comparable to the Laura Palmer character in Twin Peaks.

Unfortunately I've never seen Twin Peaks, so I googled Laura Palmer and yeah, indeed, there's a lot of similarity between them.

It's certainly worth a watch if you're interested in seeing the series.
I was watching it around or just before I started playing Life is Strange - so that's why the Fire Walk With Me scrawl in the restroom jumps out at me.
I also tried to see comparisons between various Life is Strange characters and characters in Twin Peaks.
Samuel for instance is similar in his nature towards the environment as this woman known as the Log Lady aka Margaret Lanternman. They both tend to sound rather cryptic at times yet also quite attuned to the immediate surroundings as well. Furthermore the series doesn't approach identifying the dark presence responsible for the death of Laura Palmer. It progresses towards that point as her killer is the last person you would expect as the town is hard lacking in in questionable characters. There are red herrings - people who have done criminal things though not necessarily ones that implicate them as murderers.

I actully planned to draw Kate straight after I finished Rachel, buut it's just... can't even make a proper sketch now:/ Need to wait for another 'life is strange inspired' wave^^ So yeah, there'll definately be Kate Marsh's portrait, but I can't tell how soon) Can't say anything about Witcher, I liked the first game, but too lazy to play the second one and too broke to buy third

You did an amazing job with this piece. I love the coloring, especially the hair and how her feather earring standout. Interesting, I always assumed hazel meant brown o.o Lovely eye color! Seriously, I expected what happened to her, but the moment where Chloe finds out just breaks my heart
