But that one is still prevented from attacking, according to the card's wording. It doesn't say the player can choose to have one pirate monster not attack.

Now if it said 'more than one' instead of 'a', that would be different.

The way it's currently said, it sounds like you automatically trigger the effect whether you want to or not. What if you want to take out your opponents monsters rather than maximizing damage that turn?
