Had some time to sink into a painting, finally, rather than the 1-2 hours I've had recently. I'd say this was probably around 10 hours? I spent way too long fiddling around with details.I've finally done one picture of each of the mane 6. It only took me almost a year! (I am not a fast artist)

Keep in mind, things generally grow vague as they move into the distance. You could practically make those mountains a series of silhouettes and it might work better.

Yes I fear I over-rendered them. If I could have met somewhere between the thumbnail sketch and this too-sharply defined result, it might've been better!

I love it! I wasn't expecting a night time picture from the thumbnail, and that made it a beautiful surprise! The sky is great, the mountains came out very well, hell I even love the grass in this piece. And that's not even mentioning the ponies, who are so freaking adorable it hurts. If 10 hours of work has you creating at this quality I'd say it's worth it every time. I hope you've submitted this to EQD because it's easily drawfriend material.

She's got a rich boyfriend, and says she's met him several times. She's planning to apply to art school, and claims she just needs time to plan it all out with him before she does. She's been staying at her nephew and his family's house for the past few months, and she's been asking Twilight Sparkle about the neurological effects of an all-starch diet. She just finished the all-red one. Say, do you need a few crates of tomatoes, sashimi and cranberry juice? She said she doesn't need it any more, since it was dampening her artistry, even though she hasn't made a piece since a month before she started.

She... She says that she wants to be an art student, but she only draws black and white "anime-style" figures. Badly.
She sprinkles little bits of (bad) Japanese into her conversations. With people who don't speak Japanese. Baka!

Do you actually know somebody like this in real life?
She never actually took the time to learn how to draw anime-style, since she says that it would "imprint on her and suppress her personal style." Unfortunately she just draws skinny people with big eyes and small everything elseβit's a bit silly looking, actually.
She always mentions to people that she's taking Japanese classes to better understand the "superior culture," but she never mentions that she's the oldest one there by fifteen years, or that she only seems to remember what she's seen in her animes (which she watches sans-subtitles, because according to her it weakens the effect).
The least interesting wash-up in the world: I always lie about my personal and financial life; when I don't, I wallow in self-pity for hours.

AND THEN: Applebloom wakes up screaming, in a cold sweat. "It was all a dream!". She goes on to get her cutie mark in seal training and become the worlds foremost HRONKologist.
