Description
Siren of the SeaThe True Beauty of Posette Posette is an often neglected figure, mainly cause she's low poly vs the newer DAZ Models and people say she's ugly and one can't do nice pics with her

Posette is Poser legacy content, it's the standard Poser 4 Female. The mertail is/was a freebie by dacort.com which is no longer available, but maybe he'll give permission to share it (if you ask nicely, I'm sure you'll get his permission, so I can give you the file)
Thank you!

Where can I fidn the creator if the website is inactive now?

the website is still active, but it's content changed. www dot dacort dot com - just replace with the correspondingΒ punctuation marks. Owner and creator is Dan Cortopassi. He removed the freebies and later his store from the website, and most of it is no longer stored on his server.
I had trouble with the file when moving it to another runtime and talked with him, if I can have his permission that someone who has the files can share them with me and I got it, but I found a backup on a CD and didn't need it. I'm pretty sure, he'll give you permission.Β

Thank you for the link. I'm afraid he won't as he stated "Sorry but we cannot honor special requests for specific files", but I guess I'll try my luck anyway.

You don't need to request the file; you need to request his permission that someone else who has the file can give it to you.
This way I can share the file with you since I obviously have it

Oh dear, I tried to email him, but his address keeps returning the messages ... I am afraid I will never manage to obtain this mertail...

I'm sorry, but unfortunately my hands are bound as his license states "no sharing except permission". Maybe he's away and therefore the email come back. He responded pretty fast the last time I asked him about my downloads aka paid purchases.
I can render the figure, It's not only the tail, but the complete mermaid, as stock, but she needs serious editing thereafter. This way you can play with her in manips.

It's totally understandable you cannot do much about it. I'm afraid he has already abandoned the site and that's why the email keeps returning my message. It happens if the host is no longer present.
However, if you manage to contact him, please ask if you can share his current email so that I can get in touch with him. Could you?

I used the email addy from the website dac at dacort dot com (replace at and dot thru their signs and write evrything together), so that's no secret. Possible change the subject line to something like 'Dacort store - Poser Downloads?', maybe he reacts then as he thinks you're a former customer.Β Or try to reach him on Facebook. link Seems he's more active overthere to advertise his images.

Actually the server dac@dacort.com rejects my mails. The title was nearly exactly the same. I must find another way, I guess...

Then Facebook is probably your only option...though he states/promotes his website overthere for his prints.

That's Posette? Amazing image! Just goes to show the older figures are not obsolete to a good artist. Great job, love the setting, too.

Yep, that's indeed Posette. The mermaid is an old freebie from dacort, so the upper half is Posette with a new lower body. There's also an SeaNymph (two-legged mermaid) Posette available. I haven't done much editing on Posette in this image, she's almost right out of the prog, just some minor changes, except for the tail seams. I do have an old before-after postwork magic image in storage, but I think I'll turn this into a real image tutorial (have all the PSD files for the various stages on this one - cleaning up my HDD and my storage in one step) instead of a workflow image.
With all the new bells and whistles in the programs the older figures can look quite good. Why should one buy new low poly figures created by artists if the program itself comes already with low-poly figures??!! I do have quite a lot P4 freebies somewhere in my backups, not to forget all the P4 stuff available at Poserworld.
Thank you!
