Description This was originally inspired by 's Runaway: [link] but I seem to have dialled the bondage aspect right back, which is seriously uncharacteristic.

The sketch effect here is done by Akvis' aptly named Sketch program, which I'm evaluating for its inspirational qualities. It seems to have worked.

There's a WIP in my scrapbook: [link]

Really good. How did she get her dress torn? Want to know more...

There can't be a good reason, can there? Let's hope she can get away.

I like it. The early morning (or dusk) misty effects work nicely using the approaching car headlights, and the dress damage might suggest she has a very good reason for wanting to get away (notes severed handcuff).

Not sure why you've added the rounded darkened frame edges. Is it to give the impression she's in the frame of a webcam, or possibly in the beam of a torch held by the perpetrators accomplice? (ie, she might be running into a trap).

Thanks!

The frame gives it a voyeuristic feeling, I think - a surveillance camera, perhaps? Or is it just a metaphor for the encroaching darkness that will seal her fate? I dunno, I just did it becaue I thought it was a cool effect.

aha, the finished item ^ ^
i like it! you've captured a real sense of movement and drama - the blaze of light suggests a car, which makes the running seem all the more desperate (and possibly futile). the ripped hem of the dress works well too - i like the contrast between the formal black of dinner out and torn strips of running through the woods!

Thanks, yes - that's a Land Rover in the distance, though you can't see it. (Old style, not one of those poncy Chelsea tractor types, so no getting away from that.)

old style is the best - nothing like being dropped off at a swish formal event in a muddy old land rover defender ^ ^

The voice of experience?

Actually, I forgot to thank you for your interpretation of the dress. I just knew it worked best in black (dark grey, actually) after I'd tried floral and a light colour in an attempt to make the dirt on it stand out.

I hadn't thought through a back-story, but I like the 'formal event gone horribly wrong' scenario.
