If you're going to use dForce, you really should have a 3D modeler you can use well enough to make some basic shapes. Simming the shirt on Ryan while she straddled the motorcycle was really annoying because it has so many polys. so I exported the motorcycle, stripped it down to the gas tank and saddle, then got rid of edges to reduce the poly count, and finished by modeling a very simple proxy for the frame (basically, a 12 polygon box). All of that is very easy and didn't take more than 10 minutes, but reduced the simulation time to something like a sixth of what it was without it. I find the Blender UI to be very non-intuitive, so it might not be the best choice if you want something for really simple tasks, but I think Wings (or something like that) is also free with a more friendly UI. Hexagon, Daz's 3D modeling program might be free now, too, and it's UI is pretty easy, too.
