I just watched the episode today when Wesley and Picard are in that cave is all like "I JUST WANT YOU TO BE PROUD OF MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!" Somehow, this seems better.

Now I imagine Wesley losing an arm in some kind of star-trekking mishap, being really bummed, and Data making him a super-fancy prosthetic to try to cheer him up.
