I know people who use to walk alone. Some of them have guns, others carry crowbars in their backpacks. But mostly they don't have to use any of this. It is smart to walk in pairs at least for safety reasons.

Yeah.. arrest is practically the only thing that bothers me in these kind of trips. That's why stealth is required. If there are hobos in the object, you most likely don't even need to worry about police.
