Overview: The brave and confident soldier and street-fighter, who never back down from the fight against the Decepticons, whether he's outnumbered or outmatched. He was also best friend and member of Bumblebee's pit crew during the old days of racing cars.

Details: Remember, everyone, this is not the same reckless and cocky Sideswipe from Robots in Disguise (2015). In fact, this experienced and humble strong swordsman Autobot is the father of 2015 Version.

The inspiration of this design comes from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, added with both G1 & WFC Versions' personality. I honestly like ROTF's designs and car design mode for being a slick and also fastest and swift fighter, who armed and used swords to fight off the enemies especially how he sliced Sideways in two. Not to mention, he has the charisma in his voice when commenting and confronting the Decepticons especially when he was voiced by James Remar. I personally like James Remar as young and serious warrior with charisma and calm attitude.

However, despite liking the design very much, I'm having problem with his legs because he was designed to be wheel warrior. I really wanted to draw that wheels so badly to show that he can used his wheels to ride and drive fast enough to catch up and attack his enemies. Eventually, I have no choice but to redraw them into normal legs, but will automatically shifted into wheeling mode for chasing and engaging the enemies.

And of course, I chose silver color rather than red one for two reasons. One, I wanted to differentiate his colors and attitude from Sideswipe (2015). Second, I like silver colored more than being red. Regardless, I added both black and red in for tribute to G1.

Personality: Though he is confident and brave soldier with combat and swordsmanship skills, Sideswipe can be cocky and rash when it comes to fight off the enemies. He also can be impatient when being ordered to stand down and do nothing. Whether he's outnumbered and outmatched, he won't back down from the fight, even if it means he has to bend the rules. He is quite friendly, kind, humble and fun-type older Autobot Brother-figure, who enjoyed racing and hanging out with his friends - Sunstreaker, Bumblebee and Hot Shot, for drinks and fun.
