Description
(2008) A friend asked me to draw a samurai and a gueisha in a "toy art" style, and here is the result.Basically a "shinsen-gumi" style samurai.
I prefered not using the traditional "mage" hair style as I don't think it has a good image outside japan. Also, it is pretty "aggressive", but I kept his sword drawn because it is a kind of samurai trademark. So please imagine he is just practicing some "iai suburi" or something like that.
And the girl is not exactly a"gueisha", as they tend to wear a more stravagant clotches and hair accessories. So, this one would be just a normal girl wearing a traditional kimono.
This piece will be my "R.I.P." to my old friend Freehand, that corrupted my file for the last time. Fortunaly AI:CS3 managed to recover the work.
Vector illustration using FH11+AI:CS3 over a hand sketch.
