Description
I found myself saying that an awful lot while playing Twilight Princess, and I imagine that the characters would say it too at some point. It was my first time doing wolf-link, and I think it does a really good job of showcasing my personal style. A mix or cartoon, and realistic.
Here they're standing in Ordon spring. I made a few changes to the scenery, but for the most part it resembles the game area.
Everybody always draws wolf link in some dynamic fighting pose, so I opted for a relatively inanimate position. Like they're just taking a breather. Who knows, maybe they'll go for a swim. Everybody needs a break.
This was also my first time using a "painting style" rather than a "drawing", and I like this better than the realism-oriented style I usually aim for. Feel free to tell me what you think!
I used hair brushes for the fur texture. I THINK from here.

I also used some brush/weed brushes, but I cant for the life of me remember where I got them from.
The Legend of Zelda franchise and it's characters are property of Nintendo.

Oh, wow. I just got a sudden urge to go play Twilight Princess again... It's been way too long...
Really good job on this. I actually prefer the darker atmospheres that you've used in your previous works, but that's just a personal preference of course.
The textures on the characters look great, especially Link's fur.
The background looks a little odd to me though. Given how blurry it is, it kind of looks like the water and rocks flowing off the hill are levitating in front of the hill, rather than being part of it. I might just be looking at it the wrong way though.
Either way, this is a great piece. Very well done.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, man.
Midna and link were originally stand-alone's for a compilation of some sort. They weren't meant to have a background. (which is why it's horrible) You're not looking at it wrong, I just didn't really know what the heck I was doing.
I appreciate your impute a lot dude. I'll concentrate on darker-themed stuff from now on.
And I wish I could play TP, but I can't find it.Β

No, no, don't do that.
Draw what you feel like, man. I just don't like bright colors, or brightness in general by personal opinion (I'm probably one of the rather few, too). That doesn't mean that either concept is better or worse. :3
And the background is far from horrible. It just felt like (as you explained) the characters and the background weren't really suited for each other.
And my Wii is apparently broken, so It looks like I won't be playing any Zelda either... -.-

I'm just agreeing with you. I like the darker stuff too. This was just something new I wanted to try, and still I prefer the darker themed stuff.
Maybe horrible isn't the best way to describe the background.Β "doesn't work" would fit better. I just couldn't get it to work right.

Thanks.
Just noticed that you changed your name again.
When did you do that?
