Description
I was about to give up on this about halfway through the process, because it looked more like a collage of diffrent shapes than a landscape (at that point I had no shading in it at all). So I took a break from it and whatched some videos of artists doing some landscape concept art and I realised that they all shade their drawings at least a little and they also use the lasso tool to get clean and hard edges a lot. So I knew I had to do some shading to make it look 3D. After that I started drawing again, making diffrent layers for the mountains and using the lasso tool to get clear edges at the outside of the shapes and a somewhat softer brush to get the shading done at the inside. I think it worked out in the end. I'm glad I finished it ^^There is another thing I learnt from doing this:
When it comes to generating ideas out of thin air I am completely useless. I searched for refrence photos online and got the idea for this while looking at some of the photos I gathered. I dont think anyone could point to the refrence photo I used though, because the only thing I've kept was the montainous environment and the fog. I tried to replicate the athmosphere and feeling the refrence was giving me rather than trying to copy it.
If you have any feedback let me know
Tips are always appreciated
