FYI the grimm original story of Sleeping beauty is true in the beginning with the spindal crap. then she gets rapped in her sleep by a king and the evil queen wants to kill the twins she has.. Who wake her up by sucking the poison from her finger when they are born. So the queen tries to feed the babies to her hus band the king but he just ends up killing her or sending her away I think..

Hell, I never even saw much of that shit you call a movie. I only started caring about these two AFTER I saw Maleficent.

to be honest, I never really liked the "old" Maleficent. Her character was just so... flat. In those days, Disney movies were so simple. You had good and evil and that was it...
But I see Maleficent in a whole new light now

I know what you're talking about - everything was very black-and-white back then. However, there's something about old Maleficent that, I think, distinguishes her from other "being bad just because" villains.

She was very intricate in her evil plans. She imprisoned Phillip, and then came to the dungeon and basically mocked him about how she wouldn't kill him, and would release him when he was old and grey so he could go wake ageless Aurora with "true love's first kiss".

She didn't want to actually kill or anything. She literally just wanted to screw with Phillip and take away his entire life with Aurora.

I still love new Maleficent too (especially the wings! I'm in love with her wings). They kept some aspects of old Maleficent in there, but made her have a story

To be honest she wanted to kill, not directly, but when she cursed Aurora she wanted her daed after the pricked her finger. The fairies only saved her by changing the end of the curse.

Knowing now the other story of Maleficent, she was probably just jealous of Phillip for getting Aurora.
I mean when she cursed the girl she said she will be beloved by all who know her. Doesn't that include herself? And she says it in both versions.
