I was thinking of that...what is the EXACT moment he realized having girls could be fun. The only thing that comes to me is him being royally immature, sulking while having to take care of his baby girls until one day, Kala can't make one of them stop crying. She's tired, overworked and annoyed at how Mikey's acting and it's not helping the girls sleep. He finally decides to get his lazy ass out of bed and relieve Kala. Once she leaves, he picks them both up and they stop crying, falling asleep on each of his shoulders. At that moment, he falls in love with them and he is doomed for eternity
Mikey resisted not only the idea of having kids but getting married also

Honestly, Mike reminds me of my sister's ex husband a lot. He was a cool guy who liked to have fun, and he really loves his daughter, but he slacks off in the parent department and my sister ended up doing all of the work. She didn't like that much at all.
