Description
I had several inspirations for this illustration.I wanted to make a piece partly inspired by the old 1950s pin up art and the warplane nose art of the 1940's. Im also a big fan of retro futuristic genre (Blade Runner,Dark City, Brazil) and anything that has an old Flash Gordon style.
As for the girl in the image, she was partly inspired by the old 1960's -70's sci-fi/horror film actress Caroline Munro.

Everything about this is great but....why the mature content advisory?

This is so beatiful. The only critique that I have is that her breast look a little bit "off" (Is that correct English?)

i love the way she has the facial features of a lioness.
and those guns - particularly the one in her left hand - are outstandingly retro!
Perfecto! And yes, of course the colours and lighting are amazing!

Very well done - I especially like her shirt
(one of the less useful comments, I know - but I have critique - ) the purple light with no source could have more reference in the pic, I mean a second highlight or something also being purple... Also the gun on the right should be illuminated... it all looks like you just added the purple light, because you didn't want to have huge black spaces in it...

Thanks for the reply.
Actually a couple of people have mentioned the source of the purple lighting and the lack of reflection on the guns. During the drawing process I actually did add a light source for the purple light and did add reflections on the gun. However, I can't explain why, but somehow it really screwed up the composition for me. It kept pulling my eye away from the the areas of main focus...The girl's face / upper torso, and the gun with ammo belt. So in the end I opted for composition over reflective detail.
Technically I wanted the the eye to go directly to the girls face OR come in from the left down the barrel of the gun, swoop up through the gun belt, to the chest and face and to the right pistol and loop under with the cable and back over (if you look at the image from far away you'll notice it has a shape similar to an infinity symbol or a figure "8".)
I guess I could have added a slight reflection without so much contrast...That probably would have helped with the comp issue.
Thanks again for the comments

Pat, this is amazing! you are getting so crisp and clean with your paints man. my only complaint is the canvas size. i would've liked it to be tall instead of wide,as it is right now your eye kinda gets shoved to the upper right where the gun is and wanders off the page.
plus man BRAZIL! i have never found more than two people in my life that likes that movie other than me! you rock

I really like your use of light. The sencondary lihting is nice as well to keep things from losing their form and just becoming shapes... The refencing of the old war posters and plane artwork is very nice...my only criticism is that you didn't put any purple light o the gun in her right hand....she could also use and indication of purple light on the bridge of her nose..... great work...grats!

Excellent work. Gorgeous lighting. Not sure if it is the highlights on the face but it looks just a little plastic to me.
And it would be nice to see where that purple reflective light is coming from. But a killer work. Off to browse your gallery now

Hey Pat, I think you out did your self. That transparent blouse is the winner, I don't think they had those kind of blouse back then... a touch of the new millennium.
This is Fav by far.
Thanks for illustrating this incredible piece of art.

"That transparent blouse is the winner"
LOL, actually I have three versions (Actually, just one version with 3 different layers).
One with the low cut blouse (the one shown here) one with a higher cut blouse, and one with no blouse.
One wasn't sexy enough and the other was a bit too overboard so I opted for this one.
