That truly is an amazing picture. The crab-like claws combines with the long, segmented centipede body make it pretty unusual, and the cluster of red eyes and gills add some colour to the menacing beast.
I really like the water reflections and the mist around the water (as well as the slightly faded background suggesting thinner mist above the water).
The strange thing is, judging by the position of the figures, they look like they are advancing on the creature! The second figure from the right appears to be moving forward... certainly brave, if slighly foolish!
Overall, it's a stunning piece. Very well done.

Well, they're shooting at it, so I wouldn't exactly call them unsuspecting since they've already seen it by now ... but nitpicking aside, this is one fantastic pic!

This is really great work. Some of the better artwork I've seen online lately. I still need to check out a lot of this site though! This reminds me of something I'd see in a Dungeons and Dragons book (not sure if you're familiar with it. It's a fantasy roloeplaying game and they have some great artists for their books) . Just a great piece all around.
