That's a really cool speedpainting. I like the structure of your rocks, they look pretty real and natural, yet somewhat agressive and painterly.
I've actually tried to achieve this sort of look a couple of times myself, but so far I never managed to.
The only thing that bugs me a bit is how bright the fog is. I think with the cliff blocking out most of the light the fog on the water should be less bright, and you should also smoothen it out a little.
otherwise, great work reminds me a lot on some of the big concept artists' work and style, in a good way

i like everything except the water, for me it looks little too dark, like oil. i think at shores like those the water looks more bright.
but speedpainting, so ....
anyway i like it a lot^^

Nice water effect, and I kinda like the fog on the water look. Cool environment too.

Looks nice Maybe could've pushed the saturation a bit more, dunno. Might be personal preference

Excellent. Reminds me of how Frazetta would blend starfighters into these mammoth natural landscapes.

Those ships look surprisingly similar to sparth's ships...

Glad you mentioned that Marak. This is a teqnique I recently learned on one of the Gnomon DVDs. As it turns out, the tutorial is given by David Levy (Also known as Vyle on the boards).
Vyle, Sparth, Barontieri and a few other artists were the ones that developed this technique using crazy customized PS brushes.

not a fan of the smoke/water foam brush. it may have worked as the smoke if it wasn't so straight and well kept. but when used as the water splashes it is just so bland and blurry that it detracts from the sharpness of the rest of the pic. my two scents

Wasn't going for a "foam look" Tim, was going for a fog on the water look.
