Rite of Fortitude

The day had been long and exhausting. Fenugreek and Razaa had met up with Justice and those of her tribe early that morning and he set out with the two tokotas. On the edge of the woods, they found Reqi, the dragoness who had agreed to join them on the Rite of Fortitude, a five-day long journey across the wilderness. Fenugreek attempted to befriend Justice along the journey, sniffing at her and offering her the upper tail, even though he held higher rank than she. She didn't seem to care, however, too focused on the tasks at hand, and soon Fenugreek gave up his attempts and focused on the road ahead. The first night, they set up camp between two sweeping trees and the dragoness lit a furnace-fire for them. While Fenugreek remained beside his human, keeping the werewolf warm (who, the half-mane thought to himself, could just as easily turn wolf and rest under the aurora with his own coat of fur), Justice crept up alongside the dragoness and gazed into the fire, fascinated by the power of the beast and her creation.
