Thought it's finally time to create another open species for the foxpond community ;u;
I got carried away with the ref XD

Quarins are aquatic species whose bodies are partly made of liquid.
Their size may vary depending on the fish they allow to live inside them. Their default size is the same as an adult koi fish.
They do not have an permanent aquatic companion inside of them.

They are known as "protectors of sea creatures". Not only they protect fishes by letting them stay inside their "liquid chamber", they also has magical abilities which are release through their antenna/whiskers in order to fight their enemies.

There are small pebbles that grow between their water and scale part of their body. It is believed that magic is stored in that part.

There are two kinds of Quarins. The Northern Quarin commonly lives among the Northern Sea while the Southern Quarin lives in the Southern Sea. Also, the liquid chamber of the Norther Quarin is located in the upper part of their body and has antenna while the Southern Quarin has their liquid chamber located below their body and has whiskers.

These two kinds hates each other for historical reasons. Due to this, it is rare to see a Northern Quarin in the Southern Sea and vice versa.
