In trying to get back into the drawing spirit, I decided to grab some Micron pens and a new sketchbook. Armed with a need to draw and no real inspiration, I turned to the Scary Stories trilogy. These books should be familiar to you, as they were huge just about a decade back. They weren't terribly scary books...

...assuming you never looked at the pictures.

Stephen Gammell is the writer and illustrator of countless children's books, yet he managed to make some of the most disturbing artwork the literary world has ever seen. These three (well, three for now) images - Dead Man's Brains, Gimme, and You! - are my little tribute to him. I tried to emulate his style, which is difficult when you have no watercolor or charcoal to work with.

Anyway, this is the third one, Yooooou. It was done in about an hour and a half using a Micron 05, a Micron 03, and a Micron 01. It would've been done last night, but I got about halfway through and couldn't handle looking at that gaze anymore. Bleh.
