Another year, another fusion. I've been making fusions for almost three years now and I do plan to continue. So I figured I'd make a fusion with one of the most interesting pairings in MLP FiM/EG. And of course that's Lyra and Bon-Bon. I was stumped on this fusion for a while until I realized that Lyra's sequins on her shorts look similar to scales on a mermaid. And that's when the idea to make Cabaletta look like a mermaid was brought to my attention.

I like how you gave her 4 eyes instead of 4 arms. In my headcanon, fusions (in SU) that have two arms and multiple eyes (depending on the fusion) seem to be more like a romantic couple. Think about it: Garnet is a romantic fusion and has two arms and three eyes and Rainbow Quartz was a sorta love couple (Rebecca sugar said Pearl's love for Rose wasn't unrequited) and she has two arms and four eyes. I think these fusions have two arms instead of four to look more human. When Garnet wears her visor, she looks like a normal gem. If Rainbow Quartz did something to cover her eyes, she would also look normal, just really tall. Plus, covering your eyes is much easier than hiding an entire set of arms (if they were trying to look more human). I think they want to look human for the same reason Sapphire and Ruby are constantly fused, if that makes any sense.
Why did I comment all that? Cause' I ship Lyra X Bon Bon (the best lesbians ever).

When you put it like that, it makes sense now why some fusions only have extra arms or extra eyes. Romantic fusions have extra eyes and friendly (or disastrous) fusions have extra limbs (Stevonnie is another story). But honestly I chose to add extra eyes to the fusion because I was tired of giving most of my fusions extra arms. And I did try to add the arms on her, but Cabaletta looked so much better without them. so I just stuck with the eyes instead. This romantic fusion wasn't intentional however I will admit that do slightly ship Lyra and Bon-Bon.

Even if it's not romantic, I'm glad she isn't generic and have 4 arms. It's cool to mix it up a little
