Group Plot Phase 1: Fred has finally made an appearance, and has ordered all Strays to begin invading Pet territories and stealing their belongings! How does your dog feel about this sudden change of events? Do they support Fred's decision to expand the Monarchy? Or do they think this will only end in disaster? Draw, role play, or write your character's response!She was horrified. That was the only conclusion. Rennei had only heard rumors of Fred's ominous presence as the leader of the strays. She still considered herself "new" to the faction considering her amateur age. Fred's declaration sent her nerves scrambling for attention inside her body, sending a prickling, tingling, ice-cold sensation from her nose to her toes. It wasn't that she completely disagreed with what he was saying. But she couldn't bring herself to so radically agree to it, either. Scraps didn't taste bad enough for her to risk her life stealing a fresh meal. Sure, she was a thief. But she wasn't a thief. Not a merciless, murderous thief at least. Rennei was more of a "Robin Hood" kind of thief, if she knew who Robin Hood was. So her immediate reaction was shock and horror. Her secondary reaction was to run. She needed to figure out what this meant. What she would do. How she would cope. Her eyes sought Moses in the crowd but she couldn't see him over the uproar of mingled reactions from her fellow faction-mates. She felt suddenly so small, so vulnerable, so alone. And so she ran.

It was far too late when her pupils registered the reflected light shining on her coat as a vehicle, rather than a street light or the moonlight itself. There was a honk. A screech. A second. And then there was nothing for a long time. When Rennei could feel again, all she could feel was pain. Unending pain. And the lights were so bright. Too bright. And too colorful. Her vision was blurry at best, and pain pricked at her eyelids, forcing them closed. A soft whimper was all she could muster to express the searing discomfort. There was a warm pressure on her shoulder. She welcomed it and slipped back into the shadowy realm of unconsciousness.

Rennei couldn't quite discern all of the words after, but it seemed that the operation had taken nearly an hour. It hurt to breath. She felt constricted. Feverish. Sluggish. She grunted once and gave in to the painkillers streaming through her blood like molasses. Her instincts screamed at her that she needed to leave, but her body didn't respond. Her heart just wasn't in it yet. The pain was greater than anything else she had ever felt. And she was still so alone. If she listened closely, Rennei could hear a few other barks and bays from down a corridor. And the sterilized smell sent her blurry, confused memories of her early puppyhood. If she cared enough to follow the thoughts, she might have been alarmed. But for now, all she wanted was for the pain to go away, the bright lights in the room to go away. She would figure out what it all meant in the morning.

So for those of you who are curious (or if my writing is too vague xD), Rennei's gotten herself into quite a sticky wicket. A collision with a vehicle (aka a human who resides in the Pets faction) led to her being picked up by Canidale's animal hospital/shelter (which is theoretical; I don't believe it's a canon location) for her injuries to be tended to. From this point forward, poor Rennei's about to have quite an identity crisis, and this is going to cause quite the strain on a few personal relationships. I regret nothing because I like torturing my babies apparently.
