Description Another page up!

The Operative|PG-13|Comic|Superhero|spy

Wow! there's so much fine detail!
but the first panel with the rat, how come the first thing he see's is red then quickly turns to blue?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 01:33:38 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!

And in the first panel Aarow is hallucinating. A rat with red eyes can be a bit of a disturbing thing to see when you wake up from a coma after a terrifying accident.

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 01:37:54 +0000 UTC]

it sure is, but careful with the dialog like the first thing you think when you wake up after a coma is "What happened!?" "Where am i?" "How did I get here?" things like that

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 01:41:41 +0000 UTC]

I prefer to keep the cast in character. Those aren't questions Aarow would ask.
Aarow is very intelligent in many area's. But he's far from normal. Any logical person would ask those questions, Aarow doesn't.
In the next page the logical Phil will expound upon what happened.

(Also, "what the crap, my injuries, they're gone!" kind of is an inquiry into what happened. But I will try to be more detailed in the future.)

XD and btw, is the doctor in the next page named Dr.Phil?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 02:01:24 +0000 UTC]

lol Nope. Phil is a rat. He's super inelegant and always logical. And, a off-duty vet saved Aarow from the side of the road, and Phil followed. I'll have some flashbacks explaining everything in the next pages.

Right now what I'm using is called "a hook" something shocking happens, and it makes the reader want to find out what happens next.

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 02:10:21 +0000 UTC]

That's where they live. They were close by home when the vet saved Aarow. The vet lives on the same building, and Aarow and Phil love on the top.

in a way this reminds me of Captain America XD only he didn't ask for superpowers

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 02:19:33 +0000 UTC]

lol True.
Aarow sorta "acquires" his powers. He is NOT a good dog before this. He pretty much takes a turn for the better, and uses his abilities for something productive.

I saw your voice audition journal. Thats a huge leap from just starting the pages and your already thinking about voices, Voices are always a toughie.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 02:50:13 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I won't kick it off now. But I'm not going to have any time for this stuff during the school year, so I'm getting everything ready early so I can work again during Christmas break.

Toughie? YES. It's super hard to find people who fit the character. It's gonna take a while

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 03:11:25 +0000 UTC]

I knoww you like have an idea for a character's voice but not an official one where you can think perfectly

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 03:59:26 +0000 UTC]

For some of them, I have a clear and vivid idea of what they sound like. For others, they just have to work somewhat effectively.

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 04:29:58 +0000 UTC]

yeah i know what you mean and sometimes its hard to find the person with that exact voice you think of

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 06:07:51 +0000 UTC]

IKR! Thankfully, one of my close friends actually does some free-lance voicing. He might be good for Aarow.

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 13:23:23 +0000 UTC]

you ever watched an animated movie and heard a voice and thought "Thats my voice for --" ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 2

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 15:21:33 +0000 UTC]

YES! Totally. But I find my voice is best for either major tomboys (like Alex, I'll be voicing her) or really weird common English people. (My British accent is pretty funny.) I also can do a Russian accent. and Batman XD

But my voice isn't right for much. I'm a pretty good actress, but, my voice isn't attractive. But it's great for corny, annoying wise cracking characters!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 20:28:37 +0000 UTC]

yeah im not much of an actress, im kinda camera shy but I think it would be pretty cool to be a voice actress. I have that tomboy voice too, i almost sound like a guy on camera XD
but are you gonna do animation to make the mouths move with the voice?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 21:07:56 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, me too XD

And NO, gosh I'm horrible at animation >_<. I also don't think it would come out too well, so just a classic dub.

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 21:15:33 +0000 UTC]

I'm thinking about making a webcomic too but I've thrown in so many ideas and concepts from other stuff i worried people will call it stealing

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 21:27:24 +0000 UTC]

With mine, I started out with one base concept. Super dog. Then I took it to another step, and made him an operative for a canine spy agency. Then I took it another step, and made a fearsome, yet cool villain. All the ideas were inspired by things I like. Each character was also inspired by a human, or canine character I've seem. But I've thrown my own ideas and concepts into the mix. That's what makes it original.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 22:03:39 +0000 UTC]

Mines like a mix of all kinds of stuff, I've included characters and names that aren't mine that I give full credit to

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 22:18:12 +0000 UTC]

Because of copyright laws, I'd probably consider that a collab fan comic of sorts.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-07 22:40:07 +0000 UTC]

yeah my main OC Rosie is the daughter of the demon lord Ninetails (okami) and the reincarnation of a human named Rosemary (my OC) and Rosie's creator and Rosemary's mother is Blossom (PPG)
so just that alone could be questionable XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-07 23:35:44 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. There are a lot of Okami fan stories and such, but I'd spice it up with something original.

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-08 00:15:14 +0000 UTC]

well i have a concept ive been thinking of for a long time. its these thing called Inkhearts (not the book) and theyre basically creatures that were brought to life by humans from paper to flesh

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-08 00:30:44 +0000 UTC]

TamberElla has Ink things in his comic, if you do that concept, make sure you design them differently. [link]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-08 00:38:31 +0000 UTC]

yeah theyre totally different from that. They can pretty much look like anything but some do have a human form. they live in a human-free world where their power comes from human beliefs so the more humans that believe in them, the more their world is thriving

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-08 02:17:04 +0000 UTC]

Hmm.. interesting concept!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-08 02:27:33 +0000 UTC]

Yeah and there like a physical world and a spirit world (where dead inkheart go to) the spirit world is called Celestial ad sometimes inkhearts are able to dream their way into the spirit world. But theres also a place where evil spiritual inkhearts go called the Dark Forest (thats in warriors, i need to change that XD) Rosie's mother Ninetails rests there. Every inkheart is referred as Light or Dark

Np! and sure~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-08 04:42:36 +0000 UTC]

K well the guardians of the Inkheart world are called Warriors (ik its overused) and its their job to keep the world thriving and safe from intruders, mostly humans
Humans who have a strong belief in Inkhearts can dream their way into their world so Warriors have to patrol daily to keep control. Most of them are only harmless kits but sometimes there's one looking for trouble. They drive them off but keep them alive. Every inkheart has heard about how some humans hunt them for sport and used them for power and money, For that, many fear them.
but there are also Dark spirits looking for a wandering human as easy prey. If a human is killed in the Inkheart world, they never wake up

PricklyAlpaca In reply to imajenink [2013-06-08 06:18:55 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, sounds awesome~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

imajenink In reply to PricklyAlpaca [2013-06-08 06:33:55 +0000 UTC]

yeah the thing is i really liked the Warrior's name concept and i was worried about copyright laws but an artist on here told me there's tons of people who use those kinds of names.
So Rosie's warrior name is Fireheart and i think I'm gonna make a few miniseries about Inkhearts explaining my Oc's backstories starting with Rosie's. I'm calling it Legends of Fireheart
