Description
The idea here was to come up with a hybrid between Namco's art, the Ruby-Spears cartoon design and the official U.S. cabinet artwork. The pose and a bit of the face is based on that classic Betty Grable picture but from an alternate angle (for obvious reasons). The coin-op art reminded me of Grable for some reason and Ms. Pac is a classic so I figured it'd be a fun thing to throw in there.

You can thank the new computer for that. It lets me add a lot of subtle coloring layers without slowing the system to a crawl like my older computer did. Thanks for the kind words!

It's very reminiscent of the Atari VCS 2600 cartridge-Artwork, I always thought she was slutty-looking, but it it a very good drawing!

The 2600 art mimics the coin-op artwork so you can see some links there. It cracks me up that they tried to play up the sex appeal on a sphere-based character like that so I thought it'd be funny to just border on doing that. I'm glad you like it!

I didn't get to see the coin-up artwork back then, because we don't really have an arcade scene in Germany (coin ups are grouped together with gambling machines, so you can't play them unless you're an adult, and the locations are quite seedy...say red light district).
So most of my 80s gaming as a kid was on the Atari VCS 2600, home computer systems (C64) and the NES...except for the occassional lone arcade machine in a restaurant or pizza joint .

I never knew that about coin-op games in Germany. It's sad to hear but it's always good to learn how video games are in other countries. The 2600, C64 and NES are still great systems to play on so at least you had those!

It's amazing how some people can make Ms. Pac-Man look so sexy.

I think looking at the Betty Grable pic may have influenced that. Glad you liked it!
