Description
This is my character, the Entity, in one of his many forms. Cryptic, cosmic and not to be messed with. At all. He's the second character that I ever made back when I was a kid in the early 1980's. I wanted to show as much of him as I could before showing that he pretty much fades back into his cape in this form.The Entity and all related characters © 2008 James Beaver

I have never really had a cosmic character, but love the 'stars in the shadows' look. You've done it well! Quite wicked.

I only drew the stars effect once back in the pencil/ink/markers/airbrushed acrylics days but I always liked it.
I made a separate pic with the stars after I finished the main pic. I copied a merged version of the main pic and added it as a layer to the stars picture. I turned that layer B&W, reversed the brightness and turned it into a multiply layer. That way, the parts that were black on the pic were see-through and faded into the light parts. After adjusting all that, I copied it a merged version that back to the Entity pic, turned it into a brighten layer. I went to the layer with the flat colors, magic wanded the cape, reversed the selection and used that to trim all non-cape parts from the stars layer. Additional trimming was done, but that's the basics on how I did it. Not that anyone asked, BUT STILL

I'm not sure if he's quite in their league, but he's close to a Silver Surfer level in some ways. Most of the universe either respects and trusts him or wet themselves at the thought that he knows they exist. I can't wait to show off why...
