Pencil and watercolors. I keep meaning to get around to doing some more watercolor pieces. I usually don't like messing with colors outside of photoshop, but watercolors were fun.Related content

I mean it is because the smoke it very thick, it don't look transparent.

I understood what you were talking about. I think I did the steam in acrylic, while the rest of the piece was in watercolor, and it never really looked good. The steam isn't near transparent enough and it's just one thickness all the way up, it needs to alternate between being thick and thin.

Yes, and I don't mean it is a good idea to mix watercolor and acrylic, but I don't know. I only use acrylic colors when I paint.

That's pretty funny, you're the second person on here to say that it looks like House. This illustration predates that show by a good while, but there are definitely similarities. Thanks for dropping me a line.

haha I like this the expresion is grate. I been doing water color latly too but I been inking before I color cus I thought the lines wouldn't be visable with the paint on it otherwise. Did you use any ink or is it all pencil besides the watercolor?

Actually, I think on this piece I used a purple ultra fine Sharpie for the line art. No idea why. But, it apparently worked.

Great style, he's practically the personification of the horrible morning feeling. The only thing that annoys me about this piece is the mouth, it just feel like it fits with the rest of the picture to me. Good choice of lighting and colours, it all fits together to create an excellent piece!

I can understand where you are coming from with the comment about the mouth. I just liked for that tiny hint of a smile appearing as the coffee approaches his mouth. Thanks for checking it out.
