HAPPILY MARRIED COUPLEreally really really simple, i am trying to get better at colouring, it's taking some time. i want to be much more detailed in the basic colouring. anyway, benson/pops for dA. benson is designed based on cass' beautiful fanart of him --> ([link] ). also this is an early/one of a bunch of 2 year anniversary gifts so yeah, expect more!
anyway ya ahh i like drawing these two. also guess what, they fell in love and it was not a choice. *3* since there's so many gay is a choice stamps going around lately.

...Aw, but its nice that they got married! Congrats! I like the tone feel despite that this is a joyous occasion. It's the key colours you spot that makes it stand out and seemingly symbolic. For instance, I noticed the red colours in this. Did you know in Chinese culture red is the symbol for joy and good fortune? The colour is also used for weddings too.

OH MY GOD, they are so perfectly suited for your style it's scary. I may end up snatching some elements from how you draw them and implementing it into my own art. You just make them look so amazing and interesting while keeping the charm of Quintel's designs.
I love the background in this. I think it really tells a story. This has this cool winter theme to it, sort of, and it almost looks like they're walking across a frozen pond or something. I really dig it and the whole scene just plays out perfectly in my head. I can imagine it so vividly! I also love how the shapes in the background represent shrubbery and as always your other squiggles and stuff really complete the composition. And I love all the gumballs and lollipops spilled out over the "ice". The symbolism is super cute but very effective. <3
God, I love Pops' outfit in this! The black trench coat suits him so perfectly! It's so fashionable and elegant but also suits the kind of "stuffy" and "refined" style of his clothing while fitting his personality. Plus it just looks so handsome on him! I also love the super big pink scarf. ALL THIS BLACK AND PINK. One of my favorite color combinations. But it's pretty obvious I love pink I own pink everything. But I just love how long the scarf is and how you can see the tails of it behind the coat! It again just really suits his fashion sense.
And you made Benson look so good in the stupid stuff I drew him in. Really I was just drawing him in crap I would wear because I am self-indulgent like that. You made the hat fit so perfectly on his head and made it look like he's actually wearing it rather than having it just slide around on top of the glass bowl. And the way the Chucks look in your style is just so overwhelmingly awesome.
I love, love, loooove how you posed them! Benson's legs look soooo amazing, I love the way they're positioned and you can really sense how they're constructed and the weight of them and stuff and how they move. And then they really do look like he's walking forwards/trying to brace himself on the ice (I am obsessed with that being a frozen pond forgive me...). The perspective on his feets is amazing, too, and they just look so cute! I also love how you make his limbs thicker and how it sort of looks like he's wearing pants and sleeves (more like Home Movies style but whatuet whatever), I really want to try to incorporate that idea into my next picture of them. And I love how you draw his body and the crank on his chest and the slot! UGH, it looks so awesome! And almost "realistic" as you give it this more three-dimensional quality than it has in the show. And I just love his FACE it's so precious. His expression is simply darling.
Pops looks SO GORGEOUS. I love how much more loose and wiggly his limbs are because HE IS CONSTANTLY HIGH and just has that bubbly nature about him and I love that you are able to reflect that in your style. I love how you did his shoes you make them look so polished and pretty, the heels on them are so cute! I adore the noodly style of his arms and his round shoulders are so lovely! And I LOVE how you did his face you capture all his features perfectly, his nose looks especially cute. AND HIS MUSTACHE. A far sexier mustache than my own. I also just love his expression it is so perfectly him he is so BLISSFUL to be with his Benson!! I want to eat his cute little lips! I also love how you do his hat super stylized and how it's done as part of the lineart, it looks SO COOL.
This is SO ROMANTIC. I love how they're both arm in arm and holding hands. It just looks so loving and sweet. Simple gestures like that speak volumes and are so comforting and pure. I love how you drew their hands their fingers look so amazing. Especially Pops' and the way you posed them, again, his body language is so incredibly in-character!
The texture you chose for this is great, too. It really enhances the mood of the scene without overpowering it. I think it suits the picture beautifully.

Benson and Pops have totes been married for like forever. I like to think of Benson as being his link to society. They just met one day by some twist of fate, fell in love, and Benson does his best to help him get integrated in the reality of the working world. Like, he remembers things like when Pops' birthday is, little things that usually slip through the cracks of a simple friendship but are ingrained into the memory of someone who cares deeply.
