Description I wanted to work on backgrounds a bit. I haven't done an isometric drawing in years oof,,,,
I never really explored Aria's backstory, so I thought I'd do that with this drawing!!

Aria was originally an automaton designed to do maintenance work on orbiting objects (such as satellites) but was discarded after a new model came out. They were found in a junkyard by a grad student  named Miles. He is working toward a master's degree in AI development and builds androids as a hobby. Aria is his mangum opus, being the only fully functioning automaton he was able to build.
Miles lives in a house with three other roommates. He pays a bit more money every month just so he can have an entire room in the basement to use as a lab. He calls this room "the cave", and although the equipment is outdated and the furniture is uncomfortable he still enjoys working there.
In this picture, Aria is lying on the table. They're attached to multiple computers, one of them used to generate a unique voice using neural networks and the other used to upload the actual AI to their brain. Miles is monitoring the process on his laptop.

As far as the actual art goes, I tried to make the environment look like it's been lived in. I'm also really proud of the color scheme!!

Also, I thought I'd let you know that Aria's new UTAU voicebank is coming very soon, and I might even work on a DeepVocal voicebank right afterward uwu!!

If anyone is wondering, here's Aria before their makeover owo

The layout of this is sublime, and I really love the idea of Aria's backstory, it's fascinating!
Voicebank?! That sounds amazing!! I really admire people that can work with UTAU and other synths!

AAAAAAAA thank you so much!! It was really hard figuring out how I wanted to place each piece ;o;

Thank you aaa!! I've been using UTAU for a few years now uwu !!!
If you ever want to get into it, I can give you some tips!

All of your thinking certainly paid off, seeing how lovely your layout was in the end!
Oh man, you have a lot of experience then!! I'm afraid I don't quite have an ear for such and the language I would want to make a UTAU bank for would be a bit too complex, but I most definitely will ask for some pointers if I ever decide to give it a shot! Thank you so much!

hfgjdkjdhfjdghdfghd thank you so much ;o; !!!

UTAU is relatively straightforward once you've figured it out, but it's definitely hard to get into :p

Also I'm so sorry for the late reply hhh ;w;

Great job on the perspective. The colours really do make it look like a basement - you can feel how enclosed it is. Interesting story too!

Aaaa thank you so much!!! ;o; !!
I learned isometric drawing in middle school, but there's a lot of good tutorials online!
I suggest you find an isometric grid. That's what I did!

This looks pretty neat actually

A few questions:
1) Is that a poster of Audrey Hepburn on the northeastern wall?
2) Is Miku shooting the bird in her poster?
3) Is the backstory at all influenced by Chobits? I only ask because I just noticed the similarity after reading the description to this.
4) What is the cat's name?

Thank you!!

1) it's not anyone in particular, but it was inspired by Rachael from Blade Runner. I still need to watch the movie, but I read the book it was based on!
2) she's supposed to be doing a peace sign XP
3) I have seen Chobits, but I came up with the backstory before I watched/read it. Also, Aria isn't really just found, unlike the android in Chobits. They're built and designed by Miles, who put a lot of hard work and time into them. While he did have to get components from a machine he got in a junkyard, he didn't just find the whole thing already built for him ! But I see the similarities you're referring to.
4) It's Verny!!
