And also, yeah, Erik owns the Box Five. Thought that would be an interesting little twist. Following Kay's continuity, Erik was also a good businessman. Erik owning a club in the modern age seemed plausible.
EDIT: I realized after I posted this page that I'd only typed in half of the word "preparations" in panel 4 and that I needed to flip the image in the last panel for the sake of continuity... alas.

Lol. Indeed! Very Tamaki! I needed him to have a more typical phantom moment. I want this version of Erik to still have that old fashioned, but also dark and mysterious, air about him, but I also want him to have a sort of modern edge, too. As much as I love the traditional Victorian-age Erik, I realized that he had to represent the current time in order for this to make sense as a "modern retelling." I do hope that it is not off-putting, though...

Yes, and I think I am learning more about this Erik with every page I draw. And actually, I think I may include the iPod music selection you suggested somewhere in future pages. I'll be sure to credit you when I do it! ^^

haha, I love Erik's dramatic entrance! This Erik seems so much more social and down to earth than Leroux or Kay. It makes me a little weary - is this the calm before the storm?!
