Name: Miller, Storm
Family: Jessica Thompson, Craig Thompson, Aubree Miller (Foster Mother)
Race: Superhuman
DOB: January 3rd, 1986 (01/03/1986)
Current Age: Twenty-seven
Gender: Female
Height: 5’, 6”
Weight: 130 lbs
Hometown: Anderson, Indiana

Super Natural Ability:

Main: Atmokinesis (Weather Manipulation)
Storm can sense and influence meteorological patterns, creating rain, wind, hail, lightning, snow, sleet, fog and temperature changes. This includes the ability to generate various natural phenomena or control the intensity of the weather in highly concentrated (inside room) or vastly extended (continental) areas. She can modify the temperature of the environment, control all forms of precipitation, humidity and moisture (at a molecular level), and has demonstrated control over atmospheric pressure. She can incite all forms of meteorological tempests; such as tornadoes, thunderstorms, blizzards, and hurricanes, as well as mist. She can dissipate such weather to form clear skies as well.

Sub: Flight (Not yet remembered/learned)
She has the ability to fly by gliding on wind currents. She can also move objects or other people with the wind or create a dome of air pressure to deflect attacks. Storm's power over air pressure can also be used to crush certain objects.

Weaknesses:
-Abilities tend to be emotion-based, and therefore they become unstable if she is unstable.
-She is too stubborn and self-reliant for her own good. This often gets her into trouble for not listening to others.
-The further away she projects the weather from herself, the weaker it becomes.
-Losing her memory is both a strength and a weakness. She cannot remember any of the horrible things that she’s witnessed in her life, but she also can’t remember any past training or information.

Notes:
-After her final power change, Storm gained more control over her abilities. When she was a child, the atmospheric conditions she created were solely based on her emotion, and she couldn't project them away from herself. As she grew older, she was taught to control more aspects of her power, such as controlling the elements that came with it (i.e. wind, electricity, water). However, this does not mean that she can summon water or electricity out of no where. It must be associated with the weather. For example, if she summons a lightning storm, THEN she has the ability to control where the lightning strikes, but she can't just shoot it out of her hands. The same goes for water. If she makes it rain, she can control where the rain hits, how hard it falls, and she can turn it into fog, mist, sleet, snow, or hail.

-So far, Storm can only control the weather within a one mile radius of where she is; and even then, the further away she projects said weather, then the weaker their effects become. While she has the ability to cover much wider areas, this can only be obtained through extensive training, and she'll have to learn complete control over her emotions.

-Due to her memory loss, all prior training she was given has been forgotten, and she is now back to stage one of controlling her powers, which aren't that great. Now, she can only somewhat control her minor storm clouds, which appear and disappear from above her head depending on her mood. She doesn't really even 'control' them per-say, they just react to her emotions. For example, if somebody that was addressing her pissed her off, the clouds would appear, her anger towards the person would be read, and lightning would most likely shoot out at them. She is still capable of summoning major weather changes, but she must relearn how.

-Learned motor skills, such as brushing her teeth, taking a shower, tying her shoes, even riding a bike, can be remembered; since even though her brain may not be able to recollect anything, her body can. In other words, she can only subconsciously remember things. This can occur in many different ways, such as through a scent, sight, or action. For example; Storm was never a fan of humans. Depending on the situation, if a human were to speak to her, or one was brought up in a conversation; she may react aggressively or in a frustrated manner for seemingly no apparent reason. However, the actual cause would be her subconscious mind bringing up her past feelings towards them.

History:
It all started with two, normal, human parents; Jessica and Craig Thompson. They weren’t the wealthiest of couples; they had very little money, and lived in a trailer park, but they didn’t mind. They struggled to get by, and would sometimes go for days without eating. However, once Jessica found out she was pregnant, the two were overjoyed. They finally had something to motivate themselves, and they swore to start living better lives. They couldn’t wait to have a baby of their own, and eagerly awaited the baby’s arrival. Now, they didn’t have the money to go to a hospital, so Jessica gave birth on the floor of the kitchen. Her labor was long and painful, but in the end, it was worth seeing the face of her newborn baby girl. The child already had chocolate brown hair plastered to her head, and though her eyes weren’t open, she seemed alert and well. As Craig placed the baby in Jessica’s arms, something happened. While some people might have considered it amazing, the two newly made parents found it horrendous and terrifying; the second the baby was placed in her mother’s arms, her eyes opened, glowing completely white, and the small space became warm and bright, despite the freezing temperature outside and their lack of a heater. Jessica nearly dropped the baby in repulsion. She was one of THEM. Desperate to get rid of the thing, she sent Craig out to take care of her. “Drown it! Throw it in a garbage bin! I don’t care, just TAKE IT AWAY!” she shrieked at him. Shocked and confused, Craig obeyed, walking out through the storm towards the bridge. Despite the weather, a small air of warmth seemed to surround him as he walked on, like a soothing blanket. As he stood near the edge, looking down at the roaring water, he glanced at his daughter one last time. She was snuggled against him, snoring lightly. Despite his fear of her powers, he couldn’t help but feel guilty. This little thing, that was so small, already loved him. He was about to kill her, but she loved him. Looking back at the water, he clutched the baby to his chest and ran in the other direction. There was no way he could care for the child, and there was no way that Jessica would even want to… but there was no way he would kill her, either. While he was running aimlessly through the streets of the run down city, a young woman stepped out in front of him, seemingly out of nowhere. “I can take care of her.”, she said warmly, stretching out her arms. Then, he heard her voice again inside his head, ‘Don’t worry. I’m like her.’ Then, several other people appeared behind her. They looked like normal people, just like him, but he guessed that they must be different, too. Almost unwillingly, Craig gave his daughter to the stranger, and without so much as a thank you, ran back the way he came.

Several years passed, and the girl was growing to be a strong and confident, if not stubborn, young lady. The other Supers in their nomad group had decided to call her Storm, due to her similarities to the Marvel Super hero in X-Men. Storm had a nasty temper at times, and when she was in such a mood, people found it best to stay away from her. Thunderclouds would start to appear above her head, and anybody that came within 10 feet of her would get zapped. The only person brave enough to calm the little girl was Aubree, the woman that had mainly cared for her since she was a baby. Though the two looked nothing alike; Storm, with her chocolate hair and grey/hazel eyes, and Aubree with her dark mocha skin and black puff of hair, the two were as close as any mother and daughter could be. Within seconds, Aubree could have the little girl smiling again, and the clouds above her head would clear. One day, when Storm had been particularly upset, Aubree came up to her, hiding something behind her back. Storm looked at her curiously, wondering what it was that she could be hiding, and her eyes lit up as the woman revealed a little silver bracelet. It was simple; just a silver chain with a plate. Storm turned it in her hand, her eyes shining, and squealed with delight when she saw that her name was engraved into the plate in a pretty cursive writing. She hugged Aubree tight, and urged her to help her put it on. She never took it off. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, Aubree taught Storm how to control her temper, and as a result, Storm learned how to control her powers. When her final power change happened at the age of 19, Storm found that she could not only summon her own personal clouds; she could control all weather (with difficulty) within a one mile radius. However, she was only able to do this once, due to a flare in her temper. It was mid-February, and she was furious. She had found out that Aubree had sent out a group of young adults and teens on a raid for food, and hadn’t chosen her to go with them. Storm hadn’t been sent out once, and despite pleading to Aubree multiple times, her foster mother had still refused, saying that her temper was still not totally in check, and could be a threat to others. What happened after that only proved her point further. The sky became dark with thick, ominous looking clouds, and the rolling thunder could be felt in the earth beneath their feet. A fierce wind started to whip around Storm, whose eyes were glowing completely white. With a yell of frustration, she stomped, causing a flash of lightning to streak down from the sky and snap a nearby tree in half. Aubree tried to calm her down, but for once, it didn’t work. This only angered Storm further, and with a flick of her wrist, snow started to swirl around them at an alarmingly fast rate, biting at Aubree’s face. The rest of their nomadic group fled for cover, hoping to escape Storm’s tantrum. With one last attempt, Aubree held her hand out and touched Storm’s shoulder lightly. Sadly, Storm was too engulfed in her own rage, and lashed out at her, striking her with a bolt of lightning. With horror, Storm realized what she did two seconds too late. She watched as the only person that had ever truly loved her, the only person that SHE had ever loved, fell to the ground, dead. That was the last time Storm ever used her powers to that extent.

Too ashamed to stay and drowning in her own sorrow, Storm left the people that she had considered her family since she was a baby. She traveled throughout the country, trying to avoid contact with normal humans as often as she could. She would sometimes see a riot break out, and would discreetly interfere with a strong gust of wind here, a storm cloud there; but never a complete weather change. One day, she noticed a particularly aggressive looking throng of teenage boys huddled in a group near the end of an alley way. She could hear them laughing and the high pitched sounding voice of a girl. Through a gap between a pair of shoulders, Storm could see the terrified look on the young girl’s face. As one of the boys started to grab her, Storm snapped. Eyes glowing, she marched towards the group, wind whipping around her face and through her hair. “Leave her alone.” She snarled at them. A few of them seemed nervous, but the others just laughed. One stepped up to her with a stupid smirk on his face and moved to shove her shoulder. Bad decision. She struck him with a lightning bolt, and he fell down, screaming. It hadn’t been strong enough to kill him, but it definitely had to have hurt. Turning her head towards the boy that now had the other girl in a headlock; she sent him flying into the brick wall of the building and held him there with powerful gusts of wind. The other delinquents quickly high tailed it away from her, and Storm grabbed the girl by the arm. After releasing the boy, he fell to the ground, flat on his face, and Storm gave a satisfied smile as she heard him cry out in pain. Dragging the rescued girl away, she made sure that they were not being followed. She asked the girl her name, and learned that her name was Dakota, and that she was a Super, too. As thanks for rescuing her, Dakota offered Storm a place in the group she was in. They were just a bunch of teenage kids, who wandered around and frequently got into trouble, but Storm found herself missing her old life. She agreed, and became the leader of the little group. She was the oldest, and strongest out of all of them. None of the others had reached their final change yet, and most of their powers were weak or otherwise useless. Storm grew fond of her little delinquents, and found herself taking pride in them whenever they had managed to raid a government food storage or weapon hold. This was the life for her.

One day, one of the older boys; Chandler, claimed that he had found an empty base not too far from where their current camp was set up, and that they’d be a lot safer staying there than out in the open. Pleased with her little soldiers find, Storm led the group in the direction that Chandler showed them. They stayed hidden for a while, watching the base and making sure that it was really empty. Just as they were about to enter, a whistling sound went through the air, followed by a thud. Storm whipped around, staring wide eyed at the girl next to her. A dart type thing stuck out of her neck, and her eyes were rolling back. Storm caught her as she fell, and yelled a warning to the rest of her troop, but it was too late. Two more of them had already fallen, and she could see soldiers coming towards them, guns lifted. With one last glance at her fallen friends, Storm cursed and laid the girl on the ground before running hard back the way they came. Suddenly, a hand shot out, covering her mouth, and she yelped in alarm. Gathering her storm clouds around her, Storm struggled free of her attackers grip and whirled around. She was poised to strike, but she faltered as she stared in disbelief. “Chandler?” she gasped. Leaving her no time to recover, Chandler grabbed her again, pressing his fingers to her temple, and Storm could feel her mind become blurry. “No!” she yelled, gathering her clouds again and pushing away from him. Just as she did, lightning struck the boy, killing him instantly. As for Storm, the last thing she saw was Chandler’s body collapsing to the ground, so similar to the way that Aubree’s had all those years ago. Then, everything went white.

Storm lost her memory that day. When she woke up, she couldn’t remember where she was, what things were called, or even what SHE was called. She had no memory of killing Chandler, so there was no way she could know that she had now been labeled as a criminal. She stood up, turning in a slow circle and trying to make sense of what she was seeing. As she wandered back to the main street, she bumped into a light pole and heard an odd clinking sound, like metal against metal. She looked down and saw a flash of light reflected on her wrist. Lifting her arm to get a better look at it, she turned her wrist and squinted at it. It was simple; a silver chain bracelet with a plate. There was something written on it, too… “Storm”.

Personality:
Before she lost her memory, Storm was a very confident, head-strong young woman. The only kindness she had ever known was from her foster mother, Aubree; and it wasn’t a trait that she took on. However, Storm was considerate of others, and always stood up for the underdog. She hated people that picked on others that were weaker than them, and was always quick to deliver justice. She was stubborn, and didn’t take kindly to the opinions of others; even though listening every once and a while to people’s opinions would do her good…
Now, Storm still remains head-strong, though she is unsure of everyone and everything. She still won’t tolerate bullying of any sort, and cares for the well-being of the people around her. She isn’t kind, but she isn’t mean, either. Perhaps this time around, somebody will be able to teach her the meaning of kindness, and get her to embrace it.

/ Thane

I wasn't sure how to feel about Thane at first... to be honest, I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about him... but he's always so patient and it's clear how much he cares about everyone in the Refuge. I can't shake the feeling that I used to know Thane... he hasn't ever mentioned meeting me before, but every time I think back to the look he gave me when I first arrived here; I can't help but believe it's true. Regardless of whatever happened, he's still there for me; for everybody, whenever he's needed and I respect him for that.

Kevin

Kevin was the first person besides Thane that I spoke to after coming to the Refuge. I don't know what it is about him, but he's really easy to talk to; even though he's a little kid. Even though he's kind of goofy, I feel more patient around him than some of the other adults. It's too bad I don't talk to him much anymore...

13

I don't think he likes me very much. *frowns* Apparently, some people don't enjoy being rained on indoors. He did help me remember how I lost my memory, though. More things have started to come back to me since then, so I suppose I might have him to thank for that. I've only seen him one other time since then, but we didn't really speak to each other.

Joe

That little shit. He's always pulling pranks on me just to piss me off, but in a weird way; I've kind of started to enjoy it. It's nice to have somebody around who can tolerate my temper.

Amber

Amber is the only girl I really spend time with. Even though we got off to a rocky start, things have gotten a lot better since then. She trains with me a lot and has been helping me get better at fighting without my powers. If only she'd let me cheat just a little bit...

RP SAMPLE:
‘Pain. I can remember pain…’ The girl thought as she sat down on one of the decaying benches along the side of the road. Groaning, she placed her head in her hands and ruffled her chocolate waves. Her head ached something awful, and she felt like she was in a dream. She couldn’t tell where she was, why she was there, or what she’d been doing to get there, and everything seemed blurry. When she’d been stumbling around earlier, she’d noticed a sign that said, “Detroit River, 5 mi”. Whatever that meant. Tilting her head up, she leaned her face against one of her fists, and lifted her other wrist to eye level . She slowly rotated her arm, watching the silver bracelet turn with it, and paused when she saw the word that was written on it. “Storm…”, she muttered. “My name is Storm…”

Well, Storm is very anti-social, so the only way anyone can every get anything out of her is by asking her a direct question, or making her mad. (aka, she zapps their ass)But yeah, I wouldn't mind doin' an rp now! Just shoot me a note! 8D

great job on the ref!

There are a few things i'd like to point out though.
I would love to see some more about her powers. Like the limits of her abilities. She can create the storms right? Can she control the weather she creates, for example. If she can make it rain, can she control the water? Or if she can make a thunderstorm, can she control where the lightning hits? Like when she hit the guy who was trying to harass that girl?
You also say that she can control over continental areas. I'm guessing this means over large areas of land. I'm guessing the wider area she puts her powers on, the less potent they become right? The less her influence has, and the more of effort it becomes? You are also stretching her sub ability by saying she can crush military tanks. Maybe make it a /tad/ bit weaker. And I don't mean a lot.

Ok then i started to read the history and half the stuff i mentioned above is cleared up there. maybe if you could just add stuff like "can summon her own personal clouds; she can control all weather (with difficulty) within a one mile radius" (worded differently probably) and stuff like that to the power portion, that would be great. :3

She is a very powerful character, but I see that not only is she older (which is good, because i don't like overpowering young characters) and that she has been around people who were capable of training her to be as strong as she is. So I think this is fine. :3

I'm also looking at her stage, and think of weather or not she would make a better stage yellow. Stage reds are usually criminals. She did kill a few people, but did the authorities find out it was her? Has she ever been violent towards authorities or given them a reason to think she highly dangerous.

Okay, editing everything right now. :3 As far as her stage, I was thinking that she would be classified as stage red after she killed Chandler. Since he was the one that sided with the government, I figured that he would've told them about everybody in the group and what their powers were. SO, when they find him fried by lightning, they can assume it was her who killed him.
