having recently re-read LSOTW after being totally up to date w/ MTMTE I'm not so sure that the bot inside the Magnus armor during LTOTW was Minimus.. the personality is completely different.. but maybe that's just war-time Minimus vs post-war Minimus... Nice idea though ^__^

minimus was magnus during LSOTW. it was only a few years ago canonically as well as IRL. in MTMTE you see that magnus uses the image of verity as his holo-matter avatar, he's done it a couple of times now

yeah I knew about him using Verity, though I chalked that up to inheriting the memories of previous Magnus wearers. I do recall Minimus telling Rodimus that he's been Magnus for as long as Rodimus has known him though. Just wasn't sure where in the timeline that fit w/ LTOTW. He just seemed so laid back in LTOTW as compared to the tight-ass rules-nazi that he is in MTMTE. As I said, that could also be the difference between war-time and post-war. With the war over, Minimus could feel a loss of purpose and begins to give in to the OCPD.. perhaps I'm reading far too into these fictional characters.. haha

between them, john barber and james roberts have made it impossible to read too much into transformers comics, and i'm very happy about that!
in the comics, they addressed magnus' increasing neuroticism- tyrest told him that since the war ended he'd become obsessed with trivialities and had a nervous breakdown. tyrest is nuts but i think that part's meant to be pretty much the truth. it was only post-war that magnus started to struggle with his obsessive compulsive tendencies

that makes sense. Now I'm seriously thinking I need to find some more ref pics of the Irreducible Minimus Ambus.. There's a good shot of him full body in #21 but nothing from the back.. I imagine that he'd be about the size of a human right? That means it's possible to do a 1:1 scale costume!
Though the standard Minimus looks cooler lol

in #21 there's a full view of him from behind in the panel where perceptor's wiring roddy up to the killswitch. agreed- the bigger version looks a bit cooler, with the more enclosed helmet and the shoulder pauldrons
scale's always a slippery thing in transformers (see: tailgate, combiners) but yeah i think smallest minimus isn't much bigger than a human. that's why i like the idea of minimus and verity being friends and him letting her see his 'irreducible' self. it's no wonder she isn't intimidated by him ('uncle magnus') if she's seen the little 'bot inside, and it's probably easier for him to respect a human when he's really about the same size as them. and it's cool that they both have to wear power armour to interact with the ship and other people, you know?

IT does sound plausible, and maybe he told her to keep it a secret.
