I'm wondering, compared to other alien flicks, how does Prometheus fare? Is it good or bad?

okay. i would order them thusly from best to least-best:
1)alien
2)aliens
3)alien 3
4)prometheus
5)alien:resurrection
i like them all, though. it's fine. and it looks terrific.
the script is awful, and the only actual 'character' is michael fassbender's part, david. there is no tension and despite the main character repeatedly saying that the fate of the earth depends on them, i was never given the feeling that it did
that being said, though, i was never bored and i did enjoy looking at it all for a couple of hours. the cast in their wonderful costumes are all great to look at. the sets and magnificent real locations are equally stunning
two other wee problems with it, for me:
there is one character in a fucking terrible make-up job that made me laugh- unintentionally, i think, whenever they were on screen. just awful
and
one of the things i hate more than anything is in films when people talk seriously in an obviously made-up language (see also: lord of the rings, blade). i can't fucking stand it. it's the worst. that happens in this film.
also, someone uses a fucking flute to start a spaceship. unfortunately i do mean by playing it

I see: it's great in the visuals department, but falls apart with its dialouge and plot. Thanks for telling me; I've seen many commecials of it on TV and just wanted to see if it is legit.

prometheus has DEFINITELY got THE BEST spacesuits out of ALL the alien films
it's more like alien:resurrection than alien
...but i kinda like alien resurrection
it's okay. it's pretty good. looks very nice
