They are from The Hobbit movie nd book, though technically Legolas does not show up in the book till Lord of the Rings in the J.R.R. Tolkien series. And yes, they are father and son. King and Prince of Mirkwood.

YUS! PART 2! Nmf! Color....sweet sweet color! Legolas is sure being dotted on by his gorgeous papa. I am still honored that some one would want a continuation of my Prince of fatness part 4. It was just one little idea nd here it grew into this. I never planned for a prequel! I am not a fan of sequences, but I love this. Nmf...amazing!
