i liked the book mostly just because of hoe everything looked...like the colors and that texture...i dunno...that caught my eye most

yeah, it was very textured-looking. very colourful. a smart way to engage very young kids with the story: illustrations that they want to look at and touch. on his site the author describes his method- he paints tissue papers with acrylic, leaves them to dry and then cuts the shapes for his collages out of them! what a strange way to make pictures.
the caterpillars i used to keep as pets were hairy, fluffy ones so they didn't turn into butterflies, they made moths! they were really really nice moths but i was TERRIFIED of them. as soon as they came out their pupaes i would freak out and my parents would have to deal with them.

but those moths are really pretty...i always tried to catch moths when i was little...but i always squished them...-_-
but my neighbor has these weird trees in his yard that attract these insanely freaky caterpillars, they're orangish-red with black spikes and instead of turning into butter flies or moths, they turn into wasps....0.o and they like poisonous er something....i hate them, they get everywhere in my patio >.<

I remember this book from when I was younger. It was pretty weird.

it WAS a little weird! i think it was because of the art style: it was made from brightly coloured collage so it had this flat and very very unreal look. and the caterpillar was quite creepy-looking, it wasn't all that cute.
it was a nice book, though.
