Description
Title: Colt of PersonalityMedium: Prismacolor pencils on construction paper
Size: 9" x 12"
Date: October 2016
Here's another picture I did back in October of last year and this time it's Toon Kritic, aka the Colt of Personality. I knew I was taking a risk of adding the light blue, but with yellow construction paper, I knew I could pull it off and blue and red do work. I don't know if I mentioned this before, but there is a reason why TK's Red and Black design works, where others don't. It's because he uses different shades of reds and not all black. And how he uses them works too. Like the red color that is predominately used isn't Crimson (which is found on his goggles). No it's a shade duller than crimson. In this picture though, I just added more pale orange to the highlights due to the type of material and medium. I love doing TK's goggles. Hopefully I can give this to TK one day. Well I can always do that P.O. Box thing. We'll see. Hope you like this TK.

LOL yeah that was the plan. His OC has a bit of a cocky attitude. In some ways he reminds me of your OC Val lol.

Toon Kritic is a great talent, pulling off a red-and-black OC and making it really, truly work!
You are also a great talent, capturing his likeness and using color and dimension to make his character come to life in this piece.
Your style kinda reminds me of Van Gogh's impressionist paintings, in a way! Just the way the colors blend together I guess.

Technically, Van Gosh is Post-Impressionism, but yeah close enough hehe. Thanks sweetie. Funny you should mention Impressionism, my art style is influenced by it.

Lol I have a minor in it yes. It came with my Fine Arts degree. I think for my university the Art department wanted to make sure we knew the topic from past to present. I feel that is important for any Art field though, you have to know what came before you so you can learn from it. I loved all of my art history courses.
