Description No idea why they staggered the roof like this. You'd think the statue at the end would be centered but, nope.

Very nice pic. I like the way you found this shot. I wasn't able to get many pics inside to turn out very well. I'm happy that someone did.

I appreciate it Keep at it. My first few rolls of film didn't turn out very well. Gotta practice practice practice. Let me know if you need help with anything

Missaligned stuff makes for better pictures, if it's all straight and balanced, it's boring and the viewer looks away quickly. The fact that everything in the picture has a sort of off-balance appearance helps the shot out.

It's Logan! Anyway, yeah I agree. I'm pretty sure they didn't go, "One day someone will take a picture of this..and..well..you know..we don't want it to be boring." haha. But I do agree with you that had it been all symmetrical it wouldn't be so interesting.

well, no they didn't build it like that haha! I was just talking about shots in general. See, not only is the statue not quite in the right place, but you also took the picture with all the ribs at the top going slightly to the left, that also helps it out

I tried to get as close to the center of the ceiling as I could. They actually ARE misalligned up top. One of the weirdest buildin decisions I've ever seen. You should go there with me and Paul one day and meet MsD Maybe even this Sunday >_>

It was taken in the Sacred Rose Catholic Church in Augusta, Georgia. I do like the lighting and the shadows Kind of makes me want to go back and take it with black and white film. The downside to that is, the rest of the church is too beautiful for b&w haha. I know because the first time I went I had 11 shots of Ilford XP2 left and tried to burn them as fast as I could hehe. Thanks a lot

Do you develop yourself? Just before I went digital, I used (and loved) my dad's old Minolta SRT- I so wanted to do some b&w, but finding the chemical's etc etc became a bit of a hunt etc etc- maybe I'll tackle the thing again when I have holoidays again..*sigh*

I get my processing done at walgreen's. No one around here has black and white paper so, I have to send my film off for processing. It gets to be expensive so I may look into self-processing in the near future. It's a shame you went digital haha

Well..I kind of didn't hav a choice if I was gonna take more pictures! I will still now and then probably but a roll-can't just let the minolta with its nice lenses go to waste! Slide film is awesome still!

Still, there are ways to "copy" the look of a film b&w image in photoshop..but still not perfect I agree. I also don't really like the "necessity" of PS these days..miss the time when you would have to *wait* and see yuor pics! Magic!

Never used slide film. I'm a fairly new photographer. I'd love to try it, though
I much prefer film over digital.
You can also convert to black and white at the processing place but, you don't get the same tones. I'm essentially a purist when it comes to those type things. I use paint shop pro to resize my images and crop off the border that automatically gets scanned in. Occasionally I'll straighten the image but, as of late I haven't even been doing that. I adjust the hue&saturation and brightness, but only so that I can get as close to the colour in the actual shot itself. I don't enhance or take anything away from my pictures. The scanner just dulls the colours so I correct to match the picture I'm looking at.
And I am VERY impatient haha. I hate using half a roll and being forced to wait to develop >_<

well, If I send a film in here for processing- it's ususally a bad job- they even cut frames in half! Scans they do are poor too. Reason I like slides is that it's just so SMOOTH, and the colors are vivid! I've got this old projector that throws the images on my bedroom wall, and it's amazing- it represents the magic that photography was when I got interested in it..

that sucks wind. i hate that everyone is converting to digital. i have no idea who processes slide film. it's pretty awful that your developer is THAT bad, though.
that sounds fantasic i like that outlook
