Description
I planned to make this for like, ages. Dragoxolotol was one of my very first digital paintings, and the first, I was actually proud of - I had plenty of great memories attached to this concept, so I decided to make a new, a bit more refined version ... so, here it is!I'll remake a few other drawings I made in 2015 - Good memories, good concepts... but yeah, there's much to fix on them.

Hi i am from ProjectComment
This is certainly a great improvement from the 2016 artwork, looking at the "Draw This Again" the artwork is more clear, the lighting and shading improve by a lot, the colors are more vibrant and the added details looks great! i especially like the scales lighting! but with all the great improvements being said there are still more room for better improvement. I am about to point out stuff that can be improve or things that you could have execute much better but keep in mind that it's base on my opinion and personal preference, so you don't need follow it if it's not to your liking. so the first flaw that i notice is that the figure of the creature aren't smooth, when i zoom in, i can see that the edge are kinda of bumpy, particularly on its neck and forehead area, so try to make it much more smoother and well defined. other minor thing is that you, could add waves to the surface area of the sea so that it would look more natural and lively. with all that being said this is certainly a great improvement, it is even line less, a lot of people find it hard to make an image without line art guiding them so kudos for making an image without line art!
That's it! I hope i wasn't so harsh, i also hope that my critique could be of help to you, Have a great day!

Wow, thousand thanks!
Your comment was extremly usefull, I will pay more attention in my future works
And don't worry, you were not harsh at all, I like to recieve useful criticism, since it's hard to achieve any improvement without it
So, thank you again!

The coralllllllllllll! I love the coralllllllllllll. I've would've never thought oc doing something like this. This so creative. The lighting and shading is everything. The character design is everything. The atmosphere is everything. This piece is everything. Beautiful. The underwater effect is also very well done. You captured it well. This is overall just an amazing piece

Thank you very much, but I have to admit, that the coral is actually gill - and I copied it from Axolotls' gills. They are adoreable mexican newts, and they have this kind of external gills I added to my drawing

I really love this design! And love the fact that the horns are coral. Great job with the lighting and shading! I can see where the light reflects off the skin then slowly delves into the darker waters. You really captured the underwater effect well! The only thing that's bothering me is that line cutting straight across the page, it makes it feel that from that line and down is where the water is so it's like the sea creature is jumping out of the water, yet the top page is obviously water as well so it's telling me that it's under water.

This piece overall has very high standards and I don’t see what more I could say about it xD. I think perhaps if the sun was quite bright the shadows would probably be quite dark, and perhaps more glimmers towards the top of things? I can’t say much myself as I’m still struggling with shadowing! Haha but I seriously think this is an amazing drawing and the way you’re going, you can become so much better! Just more trial and error. Practice makes progress!
I honestly really love this and don’t let any negative feed back get you down as long as you remember this is something to be proud of!

Thank you very much for the feedback and the advice! I'm really appreciate it (:
I know, it's still a long way, till I will be fine with shadows/lights, but I'll keep on practicing, I promise

Ooh a sea creature, those are always fun to design, especially with the buoyancy of water allowing for some strange real life creature designs to be possible ^^ I love the color scheme as well on this, a cyan or maybe more robin's egg blue with hot pink highlights makes a very pretty contrast. The face sort of reminds me of some exotic seahorse and are those whale like fins on the body or more winglike structures? I'm guessing there's just not enough of the overall body showing in this perspective to tell for sure but either way, love this fish dragon type creature concept you've got

Thank you very much, I'm glad you like the concept
And you're rigth, Dragoxolotl a bit reminds the seahorses (And those aremore like fins than wings)

It's like with the goldfish. Keep them in an aquarium, they'll remain small. Give them the whole ocean, and.... well, you can see

Haha, it'd be so awesome! :'D I had an axolotl once, but no matter what I did she refused to grow dragon-size

Did you try feeding it vitamin B1?
It worked for Tom Thumb.

Woah.... This is really amazing! You did a really good job at making something that looked both dragon but also unmistakably aquatic, most seadragons tend to do either all one or all the other, but you managed to blend the both together quite nicely!

what a majestic dragon! firstly, i adore the colours in this piece to bits. everything from the pink scales of the creature to the yellow hues of the sunlight streaming in is vivid and captivating. i wholly appreciate the design of the dragon as well — the turquoise complements the red beautifully and it looks ethereal. i also enjoy how its horns almost resemble seaweeds because i think it characterises this dragon as distinctively aquatic.
i think adding even more details to the dragon would elevate this piece even further. trust me when i say the external make-up of mythical creatures is something everyone is intensely curious about. currently i can’t quite discern the texture of the dragon’s skin and i’d love to know more. does this one have scales? or something smoother?
otherwise, this is a gorgeous piece!
[ i am a visiting samurai snowman and i found this in ProjectComment ’s gallery.]

Thank you very much for your comment!
I'm glad you like this piece, but I have to point out, that those are not horns, but gills, just like on axolotls (mexican newt) :'D
but I'm so happy, that ypou like the colours! I was not sure about them, maybe, they are a bit too bright...
You're right, I was a bit lazy when I did the texture of the skin, and I'm thinking about fixing it in the future.
All in all, thank you very much for your constructive comment
