Description
Frantically, she looks and turnsHelpless, as her palace burns
Her time is up, her hour' s come.
She'll be dead when this is done.
She stands alone and cries her tears
Devoid of family, and peers.
The flames, they show no sign of dying.
She just stands there, loudly crying
Save for those cries, there is no sound
Because there is no one around.
As time goes on, her pitch gets higher
She's dead long before the pyre.
In the ashes no one searches.
No one mourns her loss in churches.
They don't ask their local squire.
The villagers need not inquire.
They know why their queen has burned.
They wipe their hands, say lesson learned.
"Now don't appoint someone so mean,
and we won't kill another queen."
