BetrayalA Pirates of the Caribbean fan fiction
Chapter One: Lost and Found
It was a dark, depressing day in the Caribbean, at least for Captain Jack Sparrow. The very same day that Barbossa had once again stolen the Black Pearl from him, and the dinghy he was left had already sank. Now Jack also had to hide after being spotted by East India spies, he decided to lay low in an Inn not far from the town of Port Royal, Jamaica. To make matters worse, a storm rolled in.
As he trudged toward the Inn, the pouring rain soaked poor Jack and made it nearly impossible to see anything. The sharp wind made him feel surprisingly cold, despite the warm climate. But there was a silver lining to Jack’s horrid day, while eating dinner he found a wanted poster that caught his eye. He moved closer to the poster of what he thought was he, he read
--
Wanted: Dead or alive
Captain Jacklyn Sparrow
For piracy and crimes against the crown,
Reward: 1500 guineas
--
Then he saw the picture of her, “My sister?” he said in shock. “I thought she died, but that’s probably what Barbossa said so I’d let my guard down so ‘e could maroon me on that bloody island. We were always so close when we were younger,” he held the picture close to him “Beautiful, and she looks just like me, well, me as a girl that's years younger than I am,” Jack ended with a chuckle.
He saw another pirate in a dim corner. And decided to chat and share his discovery. “Just found a wanted poster of me baby sister, thought she was dead,” said Jack.
“Really,” replied the other pirate sarcastically, sounding as if she could care less. Jack realized that the pirate had a higher pitched voice than a usual man’s did, so they were probably quite young, or possibly female. Usually the first would be the logical choice.
“Yeah, haven’t seen her for awhile, I left her when she was little eleven years ago, a few weeks before I was mutinied upon ten years ago. I thought she was dead,” this caught the pirate’s attention,
“You sound like a good brother, my brother left when I three too, left me in Tortuga. That was the most stupid bloody thing he's ever done,” she said, grumbling slightly. “I grew up on the streets, ‘till I commandeered a small schooner when I was nine, and got meself a small crew of rebellious kids an’ teenagers. Later on when I was about twelve, got meself a ship had it until recently, thanks to the bloody East India blokes, they had to go and blow up me ship now I’m stuck here, as the most wanted pirate in the Caribbean. I’m even more wanted than my brother,”
Said the pirate girl still Jack couldn’t really see their face due to the faulty lighting in the broken down, and the fact that the stranger’s long black hair acted as a curtain, cascading around their young face.
“Who is your—” Jack began but was quickly cut off by the loud bang of the door being broken down.
“I’ve got you now Sparrow!” chimed Lord Howard Mercer, the younger cousin of the Mercer who was killed during the war less than a year ago. The pirate turned to Jack, for once her could see her face clearly, she seemed familiar, but from where?
“Listen mate, I rigged this place earlier, when I get to three duck,” she ordered, Jack nodded, disliking the fact he was taking orders from some girl he didn’t know, but it was a good plan. As the Navy men advanced, the mystery girl prepared herself, she counted to three before shooting a rope, dropping a few barrels of explosives, which knocked a few men back, she pulled Jack along with her as she reached a safe distance and shot once more, blowing the tavern up. Mercer and a few of his men survived. But Jack and the other pirate escaped.
They kept running until they reached the docks, realizing that they weren’t going to be perused. Jack wasn’t very tired, but the girl was gasping for breath, her lungs on fire.
“Thanks for saving me skin back there mate, I didn’t even realize that they knew I was here,” he said.
“It’s nothing—they probably—didn’t know, they went in—after me,” the girl replied, still panting from the long run. Jack thought the other pirate was being full of herself, so he decided to get even.
“And just who may you be ye little big headed wench?” Jack demanded angrily.
“You don’t know do me? You of all people?” the girl laughed, confusing Jack.
“No,” he admitted.
“’M Captain Jacklyn Sparrow, yer sister!” she said, Jack’s jaw dropped, he still had the wanted poster in hand, and he didn’t even realize it was really his sister even after he saw her face, which matched the poster almost exactly. As soon as Jack came back to his senses, he picked Jacklyn up and spun her around before hugging her tightly; he was reunited with the sister whom he thought dead again after eleven long years.
Chapter 2:
Old Friends, New Rivals
A few moments after Jack and Jacklyn had escaped they had commandeered aship in the harbor, the storm had died down slightly but the clouds showed them nomercy, rain pouring down harder than ever soaking the two. They didn’t seem to mind,Jack smiling, his eyes fixed on Jacklyn who studied the horizon carefully. When Finally,
“I see something!” shouted Jacklyn her voice faint in the roar of the wind and pounding of the rain. “An island, we should make port there the storm is getting worse,”
“Aye bring ‘er about we’ll make sail when this dreadful weather clears,” replied Jack.
When the two made port they spotted a small cottage with the lights on despite How late in the night it was. Seeing this queer sight they decided to check out the place. They walked up to the cottage and opened they unlocked door to a woman standing with Her back to the door holding a chest, Jack recognized her as Elizabeth right away.
“Elizabeth?” Jack said in a hushed tone. The woman turned around, it was indeed Elizabeth Turner the Pirate King.
“Jack? Jack Sparrow? Aye it is you!” she said throwing her arms around Jack. She quickly glanced at Jacklyn. “ Isn’t she a little young for you Jack? I mean she’s what Twelve and your lover that’s just wrong even for you Jack!”
“ His girl! Ye got to be kidding me! I’m the most wanted pirate in the Caribbean and you don’t know who I am!” exclaimed Jacklyn, outraged. “Everyone knows I’m his sister and for your information I most certainly ain’t twelve I’m bloody fourteen, lord! what is wrong with people!” being called Jack’s twelve-year-old-lover really set Jacklyn off Elizabeth and Jack both shuttered at Jacklyn’s sudden anger.
“Sorry,” said Elizabeth sarcastically, followed by somthing that sounded like 'you really have issues.' this caused Jacklyn's deep hazel eyes to flare up again she changed her tone, “dreadful weather, care to stay with me? It gets lonely here.” Elizabeth then leaned in close to Jack in a hushed tone she whispered “Jack, I’ve been thinking can I go out to sea with you I mean I have ten years to wait until I can see Will again, I could go out to sea for at least a year,” Jack nodded in agreement. Elizabeth would come to find the Fountain of Youth with he and his sister.
Later that night...
Jack looked at Elizabeth begging "Please love? c'mon you know ye want to!" Elizabeth glared at him angrily, but not saying a word. "Elizabeth, why not? you were all over me that night before you and the whelp got married, you were begging for it, why not now? Do you not want me now?" Jack still pleaded. "I guess you don't," he gave up with a sigh.
"Who said I didn't? I just wanted you to...persuade me," replied Elizabeth flirtatiously. and that was it Jack and Elizabeth spent the whole night together 'having a little fun'
--
Jacklyn awoke about nine next day; Jack and Elizabeth were already up and eating breakfast.
“About time you got up sis! ye must've slept heavy, we’ve been waiting for ye for two hours,” Jack said with a grin. Jacklyn rolled her eyes still groggy from getting up.
“What for breakfast?” Jacklyn asked in a groggy tone.
“Bacon, enjoy,” said Elizabeth handing Jacklyn a plate.
“Good I thought so that’s the only reason I got up,” said Jacklyn finally smiling, "Bacon's good!"
About 10 hours later they were off in Tortuga assigning men to the crew. Jacklyn had become quite popular among the young sailors. All of them were flirting with Jacklyn who enjoyed the attention. “Aye boys wanna see me more just join me crew, the crew of Captain Jacklyn Sparrow…and her brother and some other girl,” Jacklyn said, at the name a young (about 17-yrs.) sailor glanced over. He was a handsome young fellow with sparkling blue eyes and chin-length blonde hair hard to believe he was a pirate. Hard to believe Jacklyn was a pirate with her silky, soft, dark brown locks that shone with brilliance (despite Jacklyn is a pirate she bathes every day and cares a lot about hygiene) which came down a few inches below her shoulders. Her sparkling, deep hazel eyes, a portal to her soul. But Jacklyn was still pretty akward looking, like all teenagers. She was very scrawny for one thing. It was hard to notice up close but farther away she looked boney. Jacklyn was fairly strong, but very skinny. She also didn't take much pride in herself with appearence, she usually had her hair hanging down in her face, just out of her eyes.
the young sailor thought Jacklyn was pretty and decided that even if he was shy he was going to talk to the young captain.
“Uh, hello who be the captain of this vessel you be assigning crew to?” he asked as if he didn’t already know.
“That be me,” replied Jacklyn with a smile, she kind of liked him. “Signing on?”
“Yes of course! The best and most wanted captain of the Caribbean why wouldn’t I want to sign on?”
“Most men are intimidated to serve under a girl captain, or they think it will hurt their pride, Ye got a name?”
“Trescott, Gabe Trescott at yer service captain, by the way, may I buy you a drink? This may be awkward, but I think you are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen, Captain Sparrow,” he said
“I’ve actually have gotten that quite often tonight, but you’ve won me over, you’re kinda cute,” Jacklyn muttered, blushing, Gabe laughed and bought her a drink.
About another day later….
“Captain Jacklyn! A ship!” said a crewman. Only three people were on deck. Jacklyn, Gabe and another crewmate, Jack was looking over the charts in his cabin, the other crewmen asleep in the forecastle or gambling below deck. Jacklyn looked into her spyglass she instantly recognized the ship to be the Flying Dutchman Will Turner, quickly seeing Jack come out decided to go say Hi. He boarded the ship but quickly glanced over at Jacklyn who had her back turned. Will ran over and threw his arms around Jacklyn.
“Elizabeth!” Will said excitedly kissing Jacklyn on the lips, who tried to resist. When will stopped to see what was wrong.
Whoever she is she's a really good kisser! He thought.
“I’m not Elizabeth!” screeched Jacklyn but one glance at Will and she changed her tone, “but for you, I could go by Elizabeth, the names Jacklyn, Captain Jacklyn Sparrow actually.” She ended. Elizabeth came up on deck
“Will!” she smiled as the two kissed passionately. Jacklyn frowned she now envied Elizabeth, who got to be a pirate lord, pirate king, and married to the hottest man in the Caribbean. Jacklyn now saw Elizabeth as a rival for best girl pirate.
Jack looked sadly at Elizabeth, who was in Will's arms she glanced and mouthed somthing to Jack that made him smile at her and look ready to laugh at Will. Meanwhile, Gabe was glancing over at Jacklyn for the hundreth time; she didn't notice though because she usually was in the middle of somthing. It was then Gabe slipped off of the rigging, landing on his foot hard on the deck. A loud CRACK! was heard. almost instantly Gabe bit his lip avoiding screaming out in pain. Young Jacklyn slid over to him instantly
"You okay?" said the concerned teen.
"Yeah," said Gabe nervously "my leg hurts though," he finished with a pained laugh trying to bring humor to the situation. Gabe made a feeble attempt to stand which ended with him crashing down with even more pain. Jacklyn looked closer at his leg,
"Your leg's broken mate, let's get you to the forecastle, Gibbs 'il give you somthing for the pain. She supported him and helped him to the forcastle. On the way Jacklyn gave a quick unnoticed glance over at Will.
Chapter 3: Parlay, Mutiny, and Friendship
About noon the next day, a ship was spotted on the horizon. Jacklyn was busy fooling around with the charts to find the course; Jack looked into his spyglass. It was the White Shark Mercer’s flagship. Jack knew that the ship was low on gunpowder supply and they had forgotten to get more in Tortuga. When the White Shark approached ready to attack, Jack quickly yelled “Parlay!” the crew of the other ship dropped their weapons and let him aboard to speak to Commodore Howard Mercer.
“So you want me to let you go don’t you,” Mercer began.
“Aye, I want me freedom more than anything in this world I believe we can agree to settle an agreement,” said Jack.
“Really, you’d give anything to swear your freedom? Even the life of another?” inquired Mercer.
“Aye, name the person and they are yours to do whatever you wish with them,” Jack agreed.
“Alright I want your sister, Captain Jacklyn Sparrow,”
“M-m-my sister? Sorry mate she’s the only one you can’t have,” Jack said he was now getting very uncomfortable.
“Then you’d rather give your own freedom and your life over the life and freedom of your sister then Master Sparrow,” Mercer smirked
“ Alright, Alright, you can have Jacklyn if you let me get away. Just give me a month and I’ll hand deliver her to you in Port Royal, but you let me get away savvy? “ Jack replied with a half-smile.
“Agreed,” smiled Mercer “but can you live with this dooming you own flesh and blood to swear your own freedom?”
“Yeah, I could live with it!” Jack answered. The crew of the White Shark let Jack go back onto his ship and he and everyone else sailed off. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few days later…
It was a cold, dark; night another storm began to unfold. Will had come up for another visit. When out of the blue four East India agents jumped out of nowhere, Elizabeth who was holding the chest containing Will’s heart was attacked by behind. The chest ripped from her grasp.
“Ha! The Dean Man’s Chest! I’ll get a promotion for this,” laughed one of the agents as he took the chest and dove down to a boat below and rowed away despite the now pouring rain and harsh, thrashing waves. Elizabeth screamed as the agent got away with her husband’s heart. Jacklyn had just finished off the other three agents seeing the worry and fear in Will and Elizabeth’s eyes Jacklyn looked and found the location of the ship the agent had returned to. Thinking quickly Jacklyn took off her weapon belt. Jacklyn dove off of the ship into the cold thrashing waves. The whole crew watched as she quickly caught up with the escaping agent who at this point was getting on the East India ship with Jacklyn close behind. Jacklyn quickly climbed aboard before the Navy men pulled the line up. She then tore the chest away from the agent who was about to give the chest to the captain.
Young Jacklyn, defenseless, ran for her life and dove off the ship. However it was harder to return because she was now fighting the current, the current was winning, with Navy men in hot pursuit Jacklyn was forced to go under. That was Jacklyn’s biggest mistake, once down she realized a rip current had formed with help from the storm. When she was finally able to surface Jacklyn tuned a bluish color from the cold and from holding her breath way too long. The navy men right behind the young pirate captain dove again. She no longer cared about saving herself but saving Will. She saw the bottom of the ship now after 25 agonizing minutes the young pirate spent fighting her way to the ship. Will tossed Jacklyn a line and pulled her up. When she finally got to the deck she fell sprawled out on the deck gasping for air, the chest tight in her grasp.
Still shivering with extreme cold Jacklyn forced a smile at Will who quickly removed his jacket and putting it around her to keep her warm.
“Thank you Jacklyn, I owe you my life,” said Will “you know I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship,”
Jacklyn gave Jack’s signature grin that he always gave when he was up to something as Will hugged her. Elizabeth looking closely at Jacklyn finally spoke,
“You resemble Jack almost too much,” she began “I mean the piracy, the rank as captain, the dark hair, the evil grins,”
“The taste for rum,” Jack added handing his younger sister a bottle of rum, which she sucked down immediately.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
About two weeks had passed Will had visited almost every night only to see two people. His wife Elizabeth and his new best friend Jacklyn. About twenty minutes after Will had arrived and stepped on the ship which Jacklyn had nicknamed “the SNAIL”because it was so slow compared to the ship that was previously hers. Then, Jacklyn spotted a ship with black sails “The Pearl” she thought.
“Port to starboard! ”She commanded once the “snail” was close enough to the Black Pearl Jacklyn boarded. Many men held her at gun point Jacklyn drew her sword and was about to strike when,
“What’s goin’ on out there!” yelled Hector Barbossa. As he came out from his cabin. “Oh, young Miss Sparrow, what a pleasant surprise,” Barbossa said in an uncomfortable tone “What can I do for you?”
“You owe me a ship you bilge rat! Since I loaned ye what would have been my ship (she would have gotten a ship earlier but Barbossa had needed It.) and now I want my payment!” Jacklyn said angrily.
“And I’ll give you that ship,” said Barbossa. Seeing that Jacklyn wasn’t impressed he also added “any ship in the Caribbean you want I’ll get ye,” Jacklyn’s eyes lit up.
“Any one I want huh?” she said. Barbossa nodded, “ I want the Pearl,”
“I’m afraid that is the only option you don’t have dear,” Barbossa smiled. Jacklyn became enraged
“You said anyone I wanted and I want this one!” Jacklyn yelled and drew her sword. Barbossa drew his sword and attacked, Jacklyn countered his attack. The two began to engage in a huge sword fight always the same, one striking, the other blocking or parrying. That went on for a few minutes until Jacklyn’s attack was parried and she fell, rolled to miss one of Barbossa’s attacks and ended up with his sword to her neck. Thinking quickly the female pirate slammed her feet into Barbossa’s stomach winding him. Then she easily disarmed him. Seeing he had lost, Barbossa surrendered.
“Elizabeth brig him,” Jacklyn said smiling.
“Nice work! You are better than me, Will, and Jack combined with a sword, When did you ever think to kick someone in the stomach when you were about to lose a duel? Genius,” said Elizabeth awed
“Thanks means a lot to me,” Jacklyn smiled. Over the past two weeks Jacklyn had begun to think of Elizabeth as more of a friend than a rival. All was going pretty well. Except Jack didn’t like the fact that his sister was now captain of what should be his ship. “I’ll do something about that,” Jack thought.
